Thank you, Captain Orso. Very helpful. I've located the proper event file. I knew enough to know that I couldn't just add a file to the Events folder (that doesn't work in PoN, either). I just wasn't sure which file was the right one to edit, in this case GC 1805 FlavorEvents.sct. Very helpful. One ...

Modding events/scripts

Quick question for you veteran AGEOD modders. I started to get into some really light modding with PoN a year or so ago and really loved creating immersive events. For PoN, it seemed simpler to just jump into a nation's event folder and add an event and then advance a turn and watch it pop up. But a...

Having bought the game today and played for a few hours, I just want to mention that the concerns some folks mentioned here that the game is somehow buggy or not ready couldn't be further from the truth. This is a great game and as is typical for AGEOD, seems very well polished. It's immensely enjo...

Just bought the game, I simply want to thank AGEOD and all other people (volunteers, QA people, beta testers) for giving us this game. I have been waiting for this ever since Napoleon Campaigns 2 got canceled and turned into March of the Eagles. Off to play for a bit, will post some feedback later ...

Sure, the release date is December the 3rd :) And in 'avant-premiere', here is the 2nd video: https://youtu.be/casOxP0omFs Enjoy! Not a bad video. Just wondering: I was thinking that we would be able to choose a battle plan (like in TEAW) before it occurs. But didn't see this happen. Will this not ...

Dear players, The first episode of the tutorial (combined with a walk-through) is now uploaded here: https://youtu.be/CmUCKpssdXQ I would like to put emphasis on the fact that this is not just about explaining the basics. You should have fun watching the scenario chosen unfold for some turns and th...

@Drake and others- I love it that people see war as a series of Tinpot soldiers meetings and not as something more. Economics is almost always ignored by many Historians leave alone non-professionals. The reason, Prussia didn't do a fast and loose tactic in the Napoleonic Wars is simple economics. ...

If the French manage (1) to drive all British forces out of Spain and (2) no Spanish force (Guerilla or otherwise) of divisional size or larger exists anywhere in the Penninsula and (3) France has at least two divisions of infantry in Madrid, then Spain automatically surrenders to France awarding th...

Yep, I hope they keep this in mind. PON was an overwhelming monster game while ROP was actually a very enjoyable wargame. For a long time what I wanted was a bigger ROP adapted to the Napoleonic wars, and nothing much more. But I am sure after PON and CW2 the devs have this issue of balance in mind...

I have the impression that this game is far enough along that major design decisions have been made. But, I just want to continue to encourage this game along the lines that have been seemingly communicated to the community. NCP was a great operational game, and the patches have only made it better....

IMHO: Committing the guard should NEVER be a battle plan made before a battle start, at least for the French Guard. I believe, at least if we are talking of the Imperial Guard (infantry), there are no examples of battles in which there was a plan to commit the guard before the battle started. The I...

Or, alternatively/additionally, battle plans which might include committing the Young Guard, or the Middle Guard, or the Old Guard, each with different effects on how the battle might play out, would be good. I realize (of course) that this would apply only to playing the French Empire.

Hi, Historically, close combat was very rare, so that wouldn't really be realistic. I'd say: 1_ include it in the prebattle plans and then roll to see if guard engages after 2nd round. As you'd know on the morning of the battle if this is going to be "THE" battle or just a skirmish. Also a multipli...

I hope you'll keep the battle plan mechanic as this would seem really relevant in napoleonic warfare.Al so include very different plans for the opposing nations as revolutionary French didn't employ the same tactics as the british on the peninsula for example. is it 1805 to 1815 or 1793 to 1815? Ye...

I honestly think that CW2 is better than AACW as it has the same historical base with revised engine and events. Plus Ageod needs customers, as all companies. As I also said in the NCP2 forum, I'm very glad that a grand campaign will be apart of this new game. There are many games out there already...

If turns are 15 days long the game becomes a grand strategic game à la EIA, ie, most of the operational campaigning (corps marching, fanning, concentrating, etc...) would become abstracted and basically it would become a game of diplomacy / recruiting / and big stack pushing. 7 days turns + ROP siz...

Honestly, from a developers/sales point of view, I'm not sure the question, "How many people actually finish super long campaigns?" is the right question. From a sales standpoint, it doesn't matter. The better question for devs is, "How many people want the option (no matter how theoretical it may e...
