CTD, August 8-15, 1808 with newest 1.02 patch

This is from a game I had been running under all the latest patches before the 1.02 patch. The game CTD'd before installing 1.02 at Aug 8-15, 1808, and after installing the patch, I backed it up a couple of turns and took another run at Aug 8-15. It crashed again. I've uploaded the log file, but eve...

lodilefty, The problem is that with a game that lasts about 480 turns it's really Mission Impossible to script each country. However from what I see whomever is programming the AI is just clueless about what to do. All I see is really stupid things from the Athena Ignorance. I see lone artillery an...

Thanks for this report, coach. I appreciate the perspective of someone who has played all the way through (I just began 1808 with France, myself). And I appreciate your fair analysis. I agree that the AI is getting better, but there are still flaws, obviously. If you're a big Napoleonic fan like me,...

So what's next for this wonderful game?

I know, I know. Some of you are rightfully concerned about several bugs that still haunt this game. And I don't mean to diminish that concern at all...especially the supply issues...and still some lingering diplomatic/event issues (which I typically find fixable enough with a quick script). So I joi...

So, it seems that whatever the problems were, they were fixed by applying the latest patch, reloading the previous turn, advancing, making the same moves for the turn that had the CTD, and then advancing that turn. No crashes since and I'm able to continue my very entertaining second war with Austri...

CTD for the first time, August 1807 as France

This is the first time I've ever had WON crash with any patch. I'm playing, not with the latest April 11 patch, but the last March patch. I didn't want to update an ongoing game as late as I've been able to make it.

Anyway, here are the log and saved game files.

Well, according to the PRU Peace Event file, the script I've cut and pasted here seems to indicate that the event only checks whether Prussia controls Berlin, Konigsberg, and Warsaw...unless I'm missing something. I haven't checked in a while, but I'm willing to bet anything that their morale is bel...

Requirements for Tilsit

Can someone help me know what the requirements for firing the Tilsit event are? It has not shown up in my game from the F3 or F4 screens. I'm France and I currently hold Berlin, Danzig, Konigsberg, Posen, and Warsaw. Prussia is utterly defeated, though I am still at war with them. I am also at war w...

France will get full control of those countries. If playing Prussia, Prussia can DOW Brunswick, Hessen, etc., put 30 ...

Are there a limit to the number of elements that can seek cover in battle and shelter from winter in a town? Thanks. This is a bit different, but related, you can also play with the option to have penalties in area with high traffic (i.e. too many corps trying to pass through the same region). But ...

This is great! I've already started playing. AI is much better already at replacing troops and getting financial help to continue war efforts. Also, in all my previous games, I've never lost a Marshal of France to death (I have had them injured before), but in 1805 Marshal Davout was killed leading ...

Kind of surprised there were no responses to this. I guess I'll ask it this way... Developers: are you planning to fix the bugs reported on the Spanish Ulcer portion of the game? Have you determined these to be real bugs, or isolated problems players are having for other reasons? Along with this, do...

Two Questions

Hello. I just wanted to check on how the game is playing regarding two significant historical periods. I've read about bugs and I'm checking to see if they have been fixed. First, how is the Spanish Ulcer playing out? I've read about diplomatic problems when going from Bourbon Spain to French Spain ...

I don't need to know the intricacies of a clock's design to know whether the time it displays is correct. If the Athena system was more analagous to a clock than it actually is, your point would be valid. But it isn't. A clock is designed to have such precision for the purpose of providing utter pr...

I would strongly recommend Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition from Matrix, for this. The AI is much harder at the tactical level than at the strategic level and you can pl...
