The ones used in my current game come from the idea that my opponent and I are both not fans of unhistorical raiding (and he is good at writing our ideas into working solutions) 1) free raiding in states that are contested (meaning both sides have at least one substantial force (of 1 division or mor...

It seems from the description there whould be one folder and one pon.exe file. That is not how it is for me. It is just a bunch of files. The pon.exe file is there and 40,000 other files. No directory. The path column shows where they should be....Maybe I don't know what I am doing. Did you unzip i...

Because Hooker is better as a 2-star general than 3-star general. I think he would be unprofitable, at least IMHO. I like Hooker as Corp commander. Later, when other generals arrive, they may replace Lyon. So, might a consensus be, early in the game, keep Hooker as a very good corps commander, mayb...

I am not sure if there is a crossover in what experience means and what training means. All units train given time, with or without a leader with training ability. I have not seen units gain experience without battle. I would be willing to test this in an independent situation. The new version has s...

This is so clear. Thank you for explaining in such detail. Now I am speculating. Are you saying the Fort Defender ability is not used, from what you can tell? I am wondering because siege specialist is. Could 10 be the cap for artillery? One additional question. Unless a breach, repair or surrender ...

Jacques, I am reading your post, appreciating your digging and understanding, but am left wondering if this is it; the answer to defending against sieges. I have seen leadership qualities make an instant difference in sieges. Which I do not see in this formula. Are the numbers you posted only for su...

Strange. Don't you think ammos are easier to "come by" now ? It used to be sometimes a real problem for me in WiA. Not any more. For instance, I have an Indian fighting force in the middle of nowhere, who fought already several battles without supply, and it is is still at 100% supply. Maybe the ru...

Just to make it clear, you don't have to promote Lil Mac and give him an army if you don't want to, at least in the campaign game under 1.16. So, I almost never do. There are better generals to lead armies I think, and Mac is a pretty good trainer, so I let him do that. There! I poked the hornet's ...

Where an the Siege Resolution Value (SRV) or some indication of the value be seen by the user? As the player, you do not see the results of this value; instead, you only see the consequence of this value. While this can be frustrating or amusing, depending upon which side of the siege yo...

I have the impression that since this patch, there is no more ammo comsumption, just like in RoP... It is not TOO bad for RoP, but ammo could be very scarce in BoA2. Anyone to confirm ? Ammo consumption was an interesting question. I knew ships used ammo in all scenarios. After checking all saved g...

I had the same duplication of Saltikov under a different event. It was the "Buturlin replaces Saltikov" event.
This returned two Saltikov units; one with 3-2-1 ability the other with 3-2-2 ability.

Have you tried the Windows 7 option to run as an earlier version of Windows? That has worked for me. My game files are in the Program Files (x86). This seems to be the place Windows 7 best sees the earlier versions.
Everything else looks fine. Are you running as admin from a right mouse click?

Have not seen this, but I find if I use the turn replay option, ('home' in the load box) backing up a turn, adjust a force or two to create a new feed, and reload, it clears up my problems.

In the FIW campaign, I look forward to guys like Braddock being called home. He is quite the humbug, so I keep his command near Baltimore, hoping to catch any raiding French in southern PA. Ft Duquesne in 1755? Methinks that's out of the question. The Brits' lack of mobility is maddening, so I keep...

The only time I have seen no place to retreat causing units to be destroyed is when an amphibious assault occurs, and the attacking player loses.
The "Ping-Pong" battle is interesting. I can rarely make this happen, maybe Stoertebeker can set this up.

Not talking about Gray. He saw the issue of page numbers. Talking about McNaughton's misreading of OneArmedMexican's suggestion to make the game more accessible.
Might take a well written manual to play the game, should not be guess work.

I'm new to this game (which is awesome btw) and was wondering about the ways in which an army can be cut off and destroyed. I know that an army can be destroyed when assaulted in a city, but the manual suggests that you can also deny retreat from field battles by reducing enemy MC to less than 6% i...
