Thanks GrayFox! That is very enlightening!

It would be interesting to get a CSA viewpoint on these things.

What about the more combat oriented cards? (Sea mines, land mines, etc.?)

When adding several new generals to my game. Some which stayed at 1* and others which were promotable, I used Notepad++ to edit all the files. MUCH easier than trying to navigate through a spreadsheet. Also, when creating new leaders you need to change more than just the .mdl files. You also need to...

RGD Card renewal?

As the title suggests, do you get new RGD cards on a regular basis, or are they gone once used? Any real explanation would be great. Also, can we get an RGD card primer? As someone newer to CW2, I find the RGD cards to be interesting but generally confusing on how to utilize effectively. A primer on...

All right, I'll kick this off, although I am not a fount of nuts & bolts knowledge. I'm perfectly capable of number crunching, but, working in IT, the last thing I want to do with Quality War Time is slap a slide rule around. I play by history and military gut feelings, what 'makes sense'. A strate...

Starting in October 61 the game begins rolling to see whether KY enters and on which side. The chances favor the Union but it breaks for the South a fair amount too. If the event hasn't fired it will eventually default to the Union sometime in Spring 62, around when Corps can be formed. I thought I...

Pinkerton should be POOR SPY, not master spy. He was just about the worst spy of all time, and was instrumental in McClellan's complete misunderstanding and inflating of the Rebel forces. If McClellan had trusted a decent spy network, or at least listened to more commanders in the field, he would h...

Some leader abilities apply to the unit, stack, state or even the Department (Theater). I only found two abilities in the CW2 dbase for Department, Spy Master and Poor Spy Network. The leader has to be the Commander in Chief in the Department for the abilities to work. This is mostly a feature from...

What's the fuss over Artillery Divisions? And Corps Artillery for that matter...

I've been seeing artillery divisions mentioned a time or two, and was wondering why they are a big deal, and also, how they are put together. Are they actually just a ton of artillery under with a leader formed in a division with no other units? While we are discussing the best use of unbrigaded art...

They're really only of interest to the Union, there's only a few, there's a mouseover, IIRC, and the effect is more widely distributed with the Cards now. They're what they say they are. The Leader has a Trait that dampens the grumbly types. Useful for St Louis in an April '61 start; maybe some oth...

Yes, that is what I am telling you. :) Actually, the feature you mention from AACW is one that I never used. You don't get a lot of three or two stars, so I can pretty much remember who's who. That leaves me with an annual new set of one stars to cull for the good leaders. From the list I mentioned...

In AACW there was an easy way to sort through your leaders - which was awesome, because how else could you organize all of them?

Is there a way to do that in CW2? For the life of me I cannot find a similar list.
