But just so the question that I'm asking doesn't get lost in the shuffle, do the duplicate Austrian flags have an in-game function, or are they just artefacts of development?

Austria-Hungary couldn't really have a national flag because it was two different countries. The Hungarian flag occasionally shows up on its own in local sources, and you can catch a glimpse of it in the first postcard image. Entente propaganda is generally a very bad source for this kind of thing, ...

The game seems to have what looks a like a full set of black and yellow Austrian flags (though in an unfortunate shade of yellow). Do these flags currently serve any game function ? I'm tempted to start switching to the yellow and black flag, but don't want to interfere with a game function. And is ...

Some thoughts about the Austro-Hungarian flag

Here is the contents of my Central Powers poster collection. The thing to keep in mind when looking at these pictures is that these are the flags of the Central Powers as depicted by the Central Powers. http://i.imgur.com/82vIqn7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PJxqz8O.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wgXU6MP.jpg http...

i did studied carelesly maps of that era, but, if something can be fixed easily (not the map) just tell me ;) English isn't my first language either, but I don't think you meant to use the fourth word in your post. I haven't researched it at all, but assuming that Slovenia wasn't Ottoman territory ...

The thing to do is to post a list of the provinces you think have the wrong names, post a list of what you think the names should be, and post some documentation for each proposed change. 17th century Slovenia is not something that most people will get right on the first try so I think you should cu...

Just a small bug Liebstandarte, the light Croatian cavalry raiders have the wrong unit pic on the map, they show as a supply wagon... Cheers Could you be a little more specific about where that happens? At first glance everything inside the units folder looks fine, so what you seem to be saying is ...

I have to go out so I'll have to test this later, but I was able to start the Swedish Intervention scenario under the RC patch. The problem had to do with the automatic installation. Doing it manually didn't work, but when I finally got the thing pointed at the right spot everything fell into place....

As mentioned in brackets at the end of my last post, I did manage to find the serial number. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and made several copies. In version 1.00I can run the intervention scenario. With a manual application of the RC patch I can't. I'll try an automatic install and see what happe...

I'm afraid I have a new problem which is going to stop looking into this one in its tracks. Before uninstalling anything I checked to make sure I had a record of the serial number. I haven't been able to put my finger on it, so until I locate the email from whoever I bought the game from, looking in...

Ok, I'm going to uninstall the game completely and poke around in my documents in case I've missed something. That should leave me at tabula rasa. Then I'm going to install the 1.00 setup file, and then I'm going to install the RC patch. And just in case, I'll make a copy and patch that with the fir...

The installation path used by that patch was somewhat chaotic. The patch tried to install itself somewhere a bit odd, and when I eventually figured out where to send it I still managed to drop it into the wrong place. I think it's in the right place now because when I fire up the game 1.02RC shows u...

I figured out what the problem was. If you follow the prompts in the installer the game installs correctly, though in my case it had installed inside a Matrix folder in Program Files (x86). I had had some trouble with the configuration file and had re-installed it to C;\Matrix. That's when the scatt...

Installation problem

I happened to take a close look inside my Matrix games folder today and discovered to my horror that TYW is badly installed. The Matrix game folder in my computer holds several different games, each in their own discreet folder. Except for TYW. Most of its contents are scattered across the Matrix fo...

Minor but important installation glitch

When I try to change the settings from the initial autoplay game menu or call up the configuration file (which is the same thing) I get the following Anglo-French message (which makes perfect sense to me, but may not to normal people): Quote Impossible de creer le fichier "C\Program Files (x86)\Matr...

Music for watching the French and Indian Wars

Period music by Rockin' Rameau: Not sure how to do this here, but it's a link to a portion of the fourth act of Rameau's Indes Galantes (Les Sauvages). Impossible to watch Patricia Petibon walking like an Egyptian and doing the funky chicken without smiling.
