I would say we need different levels of forts, and a way to build/create them. Fort Fisher was always expanding for example. We would need a way to change the level of the fort if we make them weaker in the beginning, and it has to be something the CSA can do with their current resources (we don't n...

It does that for a few years, then seems to correct itself. When you actually build the unit, the most modern one gets built. I think this may have something to do with the techs. You can build ironclads, but your production screen is not showing the same thing (as I think different techs give you d...

The game does that from time to time. I am not sure why. You should be able to load the previous turn (look in your backup1 folder, and get the .hst that is not 0 bytes).

My solution was a bit brute force. I looked at the contentment for each and every minor region in the world. If they were on strike or rioting, or even demonstrating, I added 55%. In practice, you could change the number 55% to any number. My computer crashed, so I lost the exact script, but a copy ...

From what I have seen, it is affecting them as well. Most of the minor nations will eventually shut down, and burn every structure due to the riots and strikes. In Loki's AAR, for example, the Swiss never produced a single gram of coal in the mine he built there. They were always on strike. He ended...

@ minipol, He doesn't need that type of replay. @ Gray Ghost, That should do it. I just did a test, and it worked fine on my system. Do you have a previous turn to look at? My first test came up with a message of "no previous turn exists" or something similar. It only flashed for a short period, and...

The game stores a lot of GS in certain cities (I believe Washington DC might be one of those). So it may take a while. Do you have ships in the Potomac River right outside of Washington as well? If not, then supplies could flow into the region from the sea (through the harbor). Also there is a suppl...

I agree that the VPs are tilted way towards the union. I wonder if we could make a different amount of VPs for each side for a city. For example, Harper's Ferry could be worth 1 point to the union, but 5 to the CSA. The downside would be Athena's desperate charge for certain cities, as she would kno...

In CWII I have only seen 1 element replaced per unit/stack (not sure if it is per unit or per stack, but I will follow Captn Orso's lead). I have seen 2 elements replaced in TEAW (but it has a different system). As to when this was discussed, I seem to remember it was in the ACWI forums a long time ...

Havi is correct. If your element takes damage, the damage will be replaced anywhere. If the element is destroyed, it can only be added back in a depot. This also means that starting forces that are missing elements will not gain unless they are in a depot.

As to # 2, that is the way the game works. It takes an average of the build cost of all the units you have on the map. I believe the super heavy includes fortress, which seem to be cheaper to build than regular heavy artillery. Thus the difference.

From what I can tell, the research level is on a sliding scale. It's like 100 points to get to the 1st level, then +200 points for the 2nd level, and +300 points for the 3rd. However, the scale is 0-100%, so at higher levels, the +40 points may only show as 20% (for the 2nd) or maybe even 10% (for t...

Part of the problem is the sometimes lack of visibility for what the other side is doing. For example, in PBEM, unless the host sends out replays, you can't "see" the enemy moving during the turn. This limits your intelligence to what you can see at the end of the previous turn. So if the AH fleet w...

Low strategic rating could be the problem. Every commmander has a strategic rating (1st number of the 3 for the commander). The values range from 1-6 (a 0 is possible, but I don't remember seeing it, and technically I suppose so is a 7 or 8). With a 3 strategic rating, a commander should be active a...

I would like to see it as an event. As the WE, you can choose to "ask" for some Japanese navy vessels. Then some ships get removed from Japan, and sent to the Med, and are given a special status or nationality or something to allow them to move where ever. Maybe make it cost a few VPs or something.

The biggest advantage is multiplayer. For example, we were playing a PON game with 16 players at one point. Imagine having to send out 15 emails, then get 15 back. I like to use Dropbox for the 3 or more player games (such as AJE, TEAW, and PON). The other nice thing is you can keep a lot of turns i...

That should be fixed now (in both versions). Ships should be transiting through the land regions on the west side of the canal, and if the CP doesn't own it, they shouldn't be able to do that.

So, no, not normal.

Yes, he is removed by event, but there is a random element to the event, so he doesn't always disappear at the same time (it's a 35% chance each turn in 1864).

There is a battle log that is generated each turn. It is located in the same area as the save game (if you look at your save game path, there is a folder called "logs". The high taxes messages show few of the provinces that are effected (you are right jscott991 - more provinces are effected then show on the register). There is also a "hidden" contentment loss. Every 6 months, the game checks the status of the provinces. If you have demonstrations for example, you g...
