Isn't it the case that the army won't assault because there are other friendly forces in the same region, the reserve supply stack. So WAD and not bug?

but have you even played the full campaing game so far?

I've been beta testing it for months, so yes!

Under 1.01i there are far less of these sudden surrenders though, see Pocus's notes at the top of 1.01i. It does seem a lot better.

Something along the lines of "French forces take all fodder from such and such a province of Hanover, the population grows tired of war". Maybe, or inserting other nationalities and regions, or even "Our armies are forced to requisition supplies from the locals in....". ;)

I didn't have Internet access on Thursday (despite the phone combpany promising they should fix that) and as I was out of town from Friday morning until a few minutes ago... I guess my save isn't needed anymore. 5% chance means that if there is 5-10 sieges going on (like I seem to have in the later...

I have just selected the historical option that sends Ferdinand to Brunswick as a 3* general. He was already in Hanover when I selected the option but the event has not worked properly. He is still only a 2*. This event has worked in previous versions even when he has been in Hanover already. I also...

I have just had the Duke of Cumberland arrive, but he has not gone to Zastrow's column like he should, he's taken over a Prussian one.

23rd Foot mitre

I see that the portrait for the 23rd Foot, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, has been changed so that he appears to be wearing a light dragoon hat. It would be better if the original figure, the same as the grenadier, was used instead. The current one just doesn't look right.

I will check that, but this is strange, as the Depot Grenadier is made of 3 Grenadier companies which, upon completion, transform into 3 replacements for Elite, not line...unless there is a code issue there :D The grenadier depot battalions on completion only yield regular replacements and not elit...

If you have access to inter-library loan (it is long, long out of print) see if they have Savory: His Brittanic Majesty's Army in (Germany?). This is THE english language source for the 7 Years War in the west - between Hannover/Britain/Brunswick etc v France and its allies including Saxony. The au...

You also gain replacements from various events on a regular basis. The manual, P65, is wrong. ;) Brigades do receive whole elements as replacements, but only 1 per brigade in a turn. So if you have 3 regiments in the brigade that all need whole elements you are better off to split the brigade down s...

Static supply and surrender

Playing with 1.01e.
I have just had my garrison of Munster surrender after only a couple of turns of siege. If the special ability that is mentioned in the manual is not going to apply then perhaps it should be deleted from the manual.
Or the no surrender ability should be made to work :D

Playing with this, 1.01e, Prussian looooong campaign. I have just had the Saxons in Pirna camp surrender at the end of turn 2 processing, I gained nm and vp and took 29,000 prisoners. I haven't seen any "Capitulation of Saxony " event messages or had any of the associated troop arrivals or replaceme...

...or maybe the 'passive priority' isn't working properly :( This might be the case as I've noticed the same thing might be happening elsewhere. ;) It always used to work with hardened attrition for WIA, you could pick which unit you want the replacement to go. Might need investigating. :sherlock:

IIRC you can get from Lake George to Lake Champlain with bateau if you control the region with Fort Carillon in it and there are no enemy forces in the region.

Got to be a supply problem. New York and Charlestown are level 10 and 8 harbours.
I seem to remember that large fleets consume lots of supply. ;)

I think that the level of the harbour makes a big difference to repairs. Might even need to be a certain level for any repair to happen at all! ;)

When this event fires there are 4 of Henri Bouquet and Frederick Haldiman in the stack, none of the 4 battalions of troops are there. :(
