[RUS, Grand Campaign] Experienced Bolshevik Commissar is wanted.

Wanted: experienced player for Reds, and one more for Whites, and host. I would prefer to play Southern Whites or Siberian Whites. Game: RUS 1.05, latest quickfix. Campaign: Grand Campaign Mod: "micromod" that reduces the losses of generals to normal level, gives ability to train troops to five more...

Yes, definitely good job has been done in latest patсh and quikfixes. :) Including gratifying changes in the game engine, which affected not only RUS, but ACW too, as far as I could notice.

They are related but are not equal to each other. I doubt that the marching speed of a horse a...

As well, realistically, the mobility of cannon on the field and on the march are two separate things. Of course. But it is things substantially related to each other. Not to mention, that in a situation of a civil war whites often were forced to reuse old shell cases by recharging them with gunpowd...

Orel, yes it is error. :) Of course 1909 model and not horse, but mountain gun. Sorry for misprint - time is late. As regards to your proposal make from field and horse cannons one model in game - I disagree. Not only because of the 300kg of difference in weight, but because of mounted crew, which m...

2. Mountain Arty moves as Heavy Foot, vs Heavy Cavalry for most other Arty. In clear terrain, they all move at roughly same cost/region, but in Mountains, the Heavy Foot is faster. So Mountain Arty is WAD. Also, AFAIK, Mountain Arty was a 'special' manufacture, vs. guns of same caliber, plus they h...

1. Tanks of WWI - it is not tanks of Blitzkrieg era. It is slow and unreliable vehicles of low range, with low lifespan of motor and chassis. Which could be moved on the large distances only by railroad. I think, that reduction of heavy tanks speed in latest patch - it is right decision. And I am su...

1. Regarding the tactical use of horse artillery and tachankas. They had to not simply move slightly faster than foot artillery from place to place and operate from an ambush. They (tachankas as well as horse artillery) had to at the time, when the cavalry deployed for the attack, to go ahead of the...

Cohesion loss without taking hits in battle

When viewing detailed battle report - it is clearly visible, that units every battle round lose large amount of their cohesion, even if they not take hits.

Is it possible to affect the amount of this "automatic" loss of cohesion by modding game files?

So. All, as it turned out, is very simple. That would indeed be incredibly bad luck. :( But there could be other reasons: Was it the first time that you used the option? Otherwise the number of generals left in the pool would be lower. Which scenario are you playing? In a Short Campaign game all generals in the Komuch pool are already on th...

Death of the generals.

Too many generals killed in RUS. Loss of 1-2 out of 10 generals, involved in the battle, - common occurrence. Often, in small skirmish, single man, who was killed, is general. :D In the ACW loss of general was quite rare event, which enlivens the game. In RUS - it is real disaster. In reality, in RC...

Agree that the entrenchments are overpowered. Especially, considering that the 4 levels of defenses may be raised in a single turn with engineers aid. And considering that to the middle of the game it is hard to find forсes with lesser level of entrenchment. And nothing to do with the combat r...

The generals pool for Northern White is fairly small (it contains only 4 generals). When you take the option each general on the list has a 30% chance to spawn. The engine checks general after general on the list until the first one succeeds the check. It is however possible that all generals fail ...

Also, try getting a 4-5 NM result without unit casualties. It's very difficult to do with the current build. It would require an extremely large discrepancy in casualties. Very easy. Attack with medium size army on completely entrenched army of comparable size. Or attack with superiority of 3-4 tim...

I'm sorry, but i must to disagree with the fact, that in reality a 3-4 level experience unit, that gets 90% raw replacements is going to fall to 0-1 experience. The reasons for that I outlined above. In the game, incidentally, as far as I can understand, this moment is reflected close to reality. Ie...

What are you suggesting? Removing the elimination of elements and changing the way combat works would be a pretty massive undertaking. You'd have to completely change how the economy and production work as well. It's semantics to me whether you have to rebuild 90% of an element or buy a new one. I ...

For all practical purposes, a division with 90% casualties can be considered anniliated, as it will have to be rebuilt from scratch. Sure, the "new" division can keep the name, but that's pretty much all. Must disagree with this statement. We should take into account, that most of the survivors - e...

Absolutely agree that the balance of power in a grand campaign is unfavorably to the Reds and does not correspond to historical reality. Scenario quite well reflects situation for Whites, but Reds military power is underestimated. For instance, in July 1919, Reds had 2300000 men in army, more than 3...

The main problem, I think, is that the units taking hits too fast . Which leads to losses about 30-40% per one or two rounds of battle. Big stacks required in PBEM with experienced player to hold or take key positions. Otherwise, your forces will massacred part by part by the concentrated forces of the enemy. RUS has large map, but the main action basically takes place around several key positions and along railroads. In any case, r...
