Based on past experience, Empire will be buggy as hell on release and the AI will be dumb as a bag of hammers, so I would not bother with it for a year or two after release, then pick up the Gold Pack, or whatever.
I didn't give you enough credit. I hoped you were overlooking New Orleans, or was not aware of the Butler force. My mistake. Will be tough for me to climb out of the hole now.
The Shield is pretty good but it does not quite have the realism of the Wire. In the Shield, most of the storylines get wrapped up from episode to episode. The Farmington district of the Shield is fictional. No such place in LA.
It's more than interesting--it completely changes early-war strategy. In my first PBEM game with this rule in effect, I sent Beauregard and Joe Johnston together against McDowell's Army of Virginia. Unfortunately, while Beauregard was an army, Johnston was not a corps of that army but an independen...
A worthy recommendation. Seems a lot of people are latecomers to this series. Tell me, as a non-American, do you find some of the dialogue and street lingo a little hard to follow?
I don't know what forumula you use, but the ratings don't make any sense. I won my match against kjstrand, and took a few thousand less casualties over the two games, and yet he is rated higher.
Interesting picture of the cat and the eagle. Nice eagle, and I cannot believe the cat wanted to take it on, and I cannot believe the eagle let the cat get that close. In any case the eagle looks more incredulous than frightened. You wanna piece of me?
Everything is proceeding according to plan. I only wanted to play a close game as the CSA. As I figure it all I need to do now is win the USA round by 5 points or more and I'll win the round.
Lately I've been having quite a few problems keeping any kind of serious rebel army in the field after 1862. It's got to be due to historical attrition / replacements. I buy replacements to bring back troops to units that are seriously depleted by combat, but they generally seem to go to keeping ot...
I think it would be a good idea to spell out the file sharing process. For example, I'm unclear whether one of the players should start the game and send it to the host, or if the host should start a game and send turn files to both players. I'm sure not everyone is clear on how to manage the files.
