I've always wanted to ask, why do patches go 1.0.0, 1.0.1, ...1.0.4 etc., instead of v1, v2, v3, v4. Is it because the "1" in front looks friendlier? :) The Australian Government recently suggested we do not call our drought "the drought" but instead "the dryness" because it makes the farmers feel h...

And you will kill the wargaming PC market. You may not have noticed but this market is already all but dead due to sloppy releases like this, cost cutting and AI's that have nothing intelligent about them. As someone I trust on another forum wrote: "You don't get a second chance to make a good firs...

Cost in Australian Dollars?

I notice that Matrix Games has an "Australian" shop front that doesn't convert their games from US dollars directly. Eg: Their US games costing $49.95 cost $52-$57 Australian Dollars. I notice that this game is selling for $49.95 on the AGEOD US shop front. If I buy from AGEOD will I be charged a fu...

Unfortunately, I have to entirely agree with Nial here. I LOVE BOA and ACW, but this game is just missing something.... For what it's worth, yes I feel the same way. AACW and BoA were the first games I already owned, that I recently put on my new PC. They are full, meaty feeling games. With Nap Cam...

It may be your RAM

I've found BoA loading quickest, AACW scrolling fastest and AACW/Nap equal on bootup. But loading scens is very fast in Nap.

Thank you for responding Philippe, I honestly thought I was going crazy. I wish you and AGEOD every success with this title and I immensely look forward to buying BoA Gold in the future . I am very happy having bought BoA and AACW directly from AGEOD and for your company's always prompt replies. Adam.

PS: Come to think of it, I think I misunderstood Caranorn's kind reply in my response to him and this led to you misunderstanding me. Apologies. To be clear, I'm only talking about completely missing faces of some divisions in the Unit Panel . I don't care what these faces will look like but blank p...

Iron X you misunderstood me.

In my version of the game I have 2d divisional counters in the Unit Panel with hats, uniforms and no faces. Just empty pink.

I'm hoping it is an oversight but I do not like it.

Thank you.

I wasn't aware of this. It hasn't been mentioned anywhere.

I honeslty am disappointed. The game looks half finsihed as it is.

Is there a fix in the works?

Hi Gary, just taking my feedback from reading the posts. I got the impression that prior to the latest patch everything was working ok and the mod was to add some historical rail flavor but somehow now (after which 1.07 patch version I don't know), the rail system isn't connecting all areas. I'm jus...

2 Art Issues

1. I just tried the Waterloo scenario as the French and noticed that using the 2d art (the art showing the General's faces), it looks like some artwork is incomplete for some divisions . Eg: I see hats and uniforms but no faces just plain skin-pink areas that look really odd. 2. Also is anyone else ...

Right but they don't tell me which patch btoke the rail network and in which, admirals protest land general promotions :p leure:

Are these broken in both or just the mod patch?

Cheers,
Adam.

Confused About the Latest Patch

If I just download the AACW patch listed in the "Latest Patch" area of the forums, will I receive a patch that avoids the issues with rail lines now being broken and the admiral wanting promotion? I'm getting confused about official patches and mod patches. I really think AGEOD should just post 1 pa...

But please excuse me I don't want to mod the game I just want to know what setting is correct to keep the battle screen on map the longest? :bonk:

I think I'm doing something wrong as the battles just fly by.

Thanks.

I view EIA solely as a pbem game because I really don't expect the AI to be able to offer any challenge... It would be like playing Diplomacy against a computer AI. To be fair PC EiA isn't out yet but in all honesty I really fear it won't be able to pull multi-AI diplomacy off. No other game ...

Why Nap Campaigns over Empires in Arms?

Ok. Someone sell me on the virtues of this game. What makes it different to AACW/BoA other than the era that I should want it on my PC? :innocent: How are the battles? What's the feel of maneuver like? Is the lack of a European campaign limiting? What are the things people most enjoy in it? :cwboy: ...

There's a nice glossy paperback series called the "Cassell History of Warfare". Its maps are quality products and its narrative set for the general reader. Got my new Vista machine and hoping to load BoA and ACW up tonight. I thought I saw a thread on Vista but can't find it.
