So there's a hack where I can change my DVD player from region one to region two? Cool. I will have to look it up. If I feel at all confident about successfully doing it, then I will probably order the series from Amazon. I've been wanting to see the old BBC scifi series Blake's 7 as well, but same ...

Graduating from the Apprentice to the Journeyman stage

Now that I seem to have my stability issues taken care of, I'm going through my second round of the scenarios and really think that I've graduated to the Journeyman stage. Indeed, to my mind the game just keeps getting better and better. One thing I've learned is to frequently check the Imperator an...

I almost hate to admit it, but the problem may have been with my desktop all along. As it happened, my desktop liquid cooling system started deteriorating around the time that I started playing AJE about two months ago. In any event I should have known that hard crashes/lockups/blue screens are usua...

i recomend this series: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0864944/ imho a lot better, historically more accurate, better costumes... Isn't this the BBC series with Michael Sheen (The Queen) and Lucy Gaskill (Doctor Who: Blink)? Yes, I would really like to see it, but alas, I checked on Amazon, and it is ...

XP - Great. Vista - O/S comedy of errors. Win 7 - So so. Win 8. Looks like a disaster. I see a pattern developing. I'm sorry, but I don't need Windows to operate 56 different programs in the background just to manage a virtual network that I don't use or want. Higher memory waste and unnecessary pr...

For me it was as Marius in 'Marius vs. Sulla', and the Roman faction in 'The Great Mithridates War'. You would have thought that playing the Romans against Sertorius and Mithridates would have been a walk in the park, but it was anything but. In fact I would go so far as to say that Sertorius was th...

My mod has nothing to do with DLCs which I have no involvement in so I have no idea when the DLCs will be available. Cheers, Chris Sorry Chris, I had assumed you were part of AGEOD's adjunct scenario development team. All I can say about that is that you should try selling your scenario to AGEOD to...

Okay, I left a positive comment and vote. Now, as payment, I expect AGEOD to produce a game based on Ancient Greece. Well-said man. Would love to see an AGEOD game covering the Peloponessian War. That would be so cool. I would be willing to pay a lot for that one. Yes AGEOD, I voted for AJE on Gree...

In the US, where we have government of the corporation, by the corporation, and for the corporation, yes, you could get sued. Right you are man. I would add though that although the Birth of Rome is cool, what I'm really looking forward to is the 'Death of Rome' ;) DLC.

I 'm not fond of automation in games. As it feels game is advancing by itself. But It is becoming popular even on niche games. (See HPS,TOAW) It is good way to test AI but I think it should be available only on debug or in dev exe. Civ 5 AI doing satisfactory job on big empires but nonetheless I th...

In DW you can automate nearly all the minor minutes events in a clever, finetuned way and save and re-use your personalized rules. Like, colonial bulldings triggered by population number. It's by the way one of the very few RTS games which imo are playable. Same with the Command Ops series, but thi...

Yeah Chris, her narrative and writing style are good, but I did run in to one glaring historical error though. She had the Emperor Valerian being defeated and captured at Carrhae, but as well all know that was Crassus, not Valerian. Valerian was captured at Edessa. Still in all I won't hold that aga...

I'm still struggling to get into SMAC (Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri) let alone Galactic Civilizations. Elite about 1983 was enough, there is too much history to worry about without trying to mess with the future. Yet again I spoke too soon. Sighs. :( I'm still getting hard crashes where I have to reboot my system. :( I can see no rhyme or reason to it.
