Re: WON Public Beta patch February 24th - 2017

What path do we use to install this beta patch if we are playing a Steam version? I have C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common which is where my Wars of Napoleon folder is located, and then NGC inside that. To which file folder do I tell the installation program to install the this 1.03 beta...

I bought WoN the day it came out. I was wondering how I go about obtaining a Steam key?

Thank you!

Re: Defeating "doom-stacks"

Excellent. This is very helpful, loki. Thanks. I'll be back with questions after I see how it goes. Winter is just beginning and so I don't plan to declare war until spring. Until then, I will build up some key fortresses and solidify some useful political alliances. Thanks again!

Defeating "doom-stacks"

So, like the subject line indicates, I'm facing a couple of these along my border with a country I foresee going to war with soon. My thought would be to see if they strike out on the offensive, let them come into my territory, flank them and cut off their supply so they will begin to bleed attritio...

Re: Suum cuique - Prussia 1850 to ?

I experienced the same problem. I quickly filled up all available space with new plantations only to find that they wouldn't produce. But it's good to see why. Colonial immigrant cards, telecommunications network, etc. should slowly start to fix the problem.

Thanks, Siegfroh.

Re: Suum cuique - Prussia 1850 to ?

Not a recommendation, just a question... Are your new colonies from the Dutch producing goods? I'm also playing Prussia and just took the Dutch West Indies from them in a peace deal, but the sugar/tobacco/tropical fruit plantations aren't producing anything. Nothing. The infrastructure there is, of ...

Do you think the faction name in the event title should read PRU instead of GER, since I haven't formed Germany yet?

Re: Early access to all colonial actions as Prussia

Update: I did as you said and placed the modified text into the GC 1850 folder, but it never fired. That folder also seems to not contain normal looking event texts. Should I have placed it into another Event folder??

Early access to all colonial actions as Prussia

Does anyone know how to give Prussia early access to all colonial decision cards? I know how to navigate the files, and I assume the colonial decision texts have to be modified from their current minimum date and then placed into the GC 1850 folder...right??? Has anyone done this and could give me a...

I saw someone else post an AAR where they had done that as Prussia. I would love to know how, too, if you or anyone else knows...

Re: PON official quickfix 1.04.3

Not that you need it, but I can concur with the Crimean War not happening in my game, either (just started 1858). Both Russia and Austria have been at the Ottoman's throats for most the game...especially Russia. It's been non-stop war, essentially. As for India, the Mughalistan forces have taken a l...

Re: PON official quickfix 1.04.3

Okay. Thanks, Siegfroh. Then my game may be normal. I had the Zollervein event early on and chose the historical route. I've also had the usual cards. What needs to happen to form the NGF? And when it that supposed to happen? Which German minors do you need to have a pledge of unity from? I guess I ...

Re: PON official quickfix 1.04.3

Also, it seems to me that some Prussian "German unification" events haven't been firing properly, or at least in the time they are supposed to. Is this due to possible bugs with Prussia in 1.04.2???

I wondered if you might know, Siegfroh...

Prussian influence diplo missions

Probably a question I should already know the answer to, but I've never played Prussia before in this game (only France, thus far). In terms of using the influence decision cards on north German minors, what should be the goal? I know there are events I will receive that will lead to the Holstein cr...

Re: Historical Trends in this game are too rigid

I enjoy charting my own path in the campaign games and rarely use the peace treaty scripts, as I am too far along with my own agenda. I pretty much follow 1805 and 1806 with attacks on Austria and Prussia as it happened historically, but from 1807 on I am on my own. I attack Russian earlier, and go...

The best way to help is to show a savegame with a precise, unique situation which is buggy, something clear not a loose 'this turn has many problems, just check it'. With a description of the issue, we can inspect the particular code and see how to improve or debug it. But engine slowdown is not so...

I just want to say how it's such a shame that this game has the problems it does. In so many ways, it is masterpiece...but in so many other ways, a nightmare. It's so beautiful, first of all. And it's so immersive. The game just invites you into the Napoleonic era. For me, it can feel like I'm stepp...
