Re: Reinforcements question

Replacements are kind of automatic, but you can buy more using EP in the ledger tabs which provide you options.

Re: Seven Year War & American War of Independence novels?

So many good books. Personally I am a fan of James Fenimore Cooper, but he is not everyone's cup of tea. The movie 'The Last of the Mohicans' really captures how I feel about his books. But for other options: French and Indian War - The Matchlock Gun Into the Wilderness Fire Along the Sky The Long P...

As far as I can tell, there is no random draw, just a set sequence. Maybe someone else knows better.

Re: Best PBEM for experienced players?

My semi-serious answer is the era and campaign you most enjoy. One of the most delightful experiences I had with a long time PBEM player/friend was to start at the earliest game and play forward to the most recent game of all the scenarios and DLCs. It was a lot of fun. Then we went back to the ones...

You are probably missing an underlying program not compatible with Mac. You might try running the compatibility program again looking to see if you need Direct X or some other program.

I am not certain if I am answering your question, if I am not just write me off as an idiot who cannot read, but I think this is the answer. Do other AGEOD games run fine for you or just Matrix games. I have an idea, but need to know this.

Hmm, I love questions which make me reach deep into my memory, kind of 'I don't know.' But, it is a question of city occupancy. I think about four key strategic cities. I will sleep on it.

I assume you have selected the game option to reduce memory demand and winter maps and such.

This is not a monster game, just covers a lot of potential territory. Each scenario is pretty contained.

I am not sure how hidden it is, but yes, get medical services in addition to communication units in to all armies, for sure, and to corps if you can afford.

Re: Not enough scenarios - biggest problem of Ageod games

You know, Taillebois, I totally agree with you, but then find myself explaining why your desire is not at the top of anyone's agenda. I love the scenarios of Birth of America or WIA and play them all and especially appreciate the player created scenarios. One thing I find in PBEM play is that most p...

Re: Slave legions not replenishing and other questions

Your entry and edits provide a challenge in answering, please respond with issues not addressed. I am pretty sure slave legions are not eligible for replacements, just bonus legions. But what you can try, put them in a city by themselves which city has supply equal to or exceeding the elements of th...

Re: Returning to the game... and an Arty question.

While I do agree with ArmChairGeneral on all points, I prefer to play historically rather than maximizing game features. So I do not use an all artillery division in my play. Perhaps as the Union Army of the Potomac, this would be ok, but I use a more historical mix of artillery within divisions and...

I only know running outside of Steam, but it seems you have identified the problem and solution. With updates to Windows you must run as an admin.

Re: Returning to the game... and an Arty question.

Putting a few more artillery would make sense and likely improve usage. I am curious to your reference to independent units, are these the corps artillery? Each corps does benefit from having its own artillery, but not too many. Rules of engagement sometimes limit deployment. If you are the marching...

In my case, I inherited the Swedish Army and navy due to the French invasion of Sweden, who was Russia's ally. Since the peace treat between France and Sweden, continue to control these troops and can add new troops with the expeditionary forces.

Think of it this way. The hst file carries the game. The ord file carries the factions instructions for the turn. Player play two ways: 1. Single host. In this instance the host sends the hst to the opponent so the opponent can create an ord and send it back to the host. 2. Shared hosting. In this i...

Are you running the game as an administrator? This is the typical reason for sure problems.
