Re: AI Advice

I am no AI expert so instead of answering, I suggest this: you are ready to play either: 1. Both sides against yourself, or 2. PBEM versus a human. Once you have a winning AI tactic, whatever you do will not change how it plays. So you ought to change who you play to get more enrichment out of the g...

Re: State of the game

If I understand, it is a script the game cannot find for some reason.
Several WON are at The Wargame Club. A nice thing about games there is there are a couple of players who can debug and move the game forward, if you do not already know.

Re: New Spanish Civil War game by Leibst

Do you fellows know you can purchase the game now while under development? Then you can play, but you can also add to its development. It is coming along nicely. Oh, by the way, if you purchase pre-release you get a discount. Not a bad deal if you know you will buy as I did.

Re: A plea for S. Lebourcq

You know fellows, I never have a crash with RUS Gold or Sons of War; and I play a lot of RUS. Of course I only play pbem which I think, inadvertently, solves for cause of crashes. By that I mean, the game needs to periodically purge its memory. Playing solo whether against AI or yourself, this can b...

Re: Clarification on OOB Organization

Just make sure the stack has no command penalty. An independent division is better than a leader led stack with a penalty. It is not a problem to have a leader in both roles if no command penalty

Re: Clarification on OOB Organization

Your observations are correct and part of the game design. Factions like the Ottoman do not have as robust of a command structure as some of the other factions. This is intended to represent national differences in army modernization and training. Almost all AGEOD game starts are historical and requ...

Re: how to download

If you have registered the game, it is available at Matrix or Slitherine. If you have not registered it but still have your original serial, you might pull a ticket at Matrix or Slitherine. Not sure, but I think this will do it. Incidentally, I still play this game pbem. Several active players enjoy...

Re: HQ Support

Hi GENTMJ - And welcome to a quiet forum. By not being able to play further I assume when you load the game you get an error. Two common things cause this problem, not running the game with administrative rights. and/or playing multiple turns without exiting briefly. It is usually a memory issue. In...

Re: New to This Game but Not New

Except for France, other factions are not building divisions in the early game. So what you see is leaders who can organize units under them. These leaders and units can be broken down, build you will not be able to recombine them. Think of Napoleon as inventing the army organization used in the Ame...

Yes, ranks are relative to the scenario, not an historical ranking per se, in other words, in the Swedish scenario several leaders had a higher rank at that time.

Re: No new generals

Hi Bosse - I am not sure what is causing your glitch. If you have the option to call for new generals, they ought to appear. So something is causing the game to misfire.
Sorry to be of so little help.

Re: Special order Seek shelter

This order, withdraw inside a town or fort, will always place your units inside before the turn's end whether there is combat or not. If you can leave a small force inside, say a militia unit, your forces will withdraw into the structure if forced to retreat. The advantage of doing this is your unit...
