Oh, the depot units provide replacements for your other units without having to spend EP. I do train other units, but the others on this thread suggest not bothering with anything except replacements.
You do not have to do anything. They just appear in the replacement tab until used.

Depot units are in your units to be recruited when you click the recruit button.
Then look for these units with most countries units near the militia.

That is my take. You cannot watch the blow by blow unless you volunteer to host. Then you can see the blow by blow. As for game play, you have all the vital data in the battle report summary. When you learn to read the conditions making you more successful or less successful, this provides you an id...

This is my take. Your force in the target area is leader challenged, versus the opposing forces. When your Army of Italy joins, it is not activated. This puts you into a leadership deficit, again. The variable results are likely due to the three Austrian and two French forces either engaging or not ...

Great question. It is better to use the engineer with a leader who will likely be more active. This is the same with artillery. Division units and capabilities typically extend to all corps qualities. Because corps leaders are more typically active, use at the corp level means more use. But, no matt...

I think an indication of how poor the manual and tutorial are is visible in these forums. Most people are just trying to figure out how parts of the game actually work instead of matters of tactics. What happened to you is what should happen. The training officer speeds up the training time. All units eventually train, with an officer, this happens more rapidly. So, once your units upgrade, move the training officer to other units.

You miss the animation, but you are not missing the details, just the battle play. The details are all in the red battle note in the bottom panel. Teodor, It is not as simple as that. You need Engagement points to get replacements. New units do not, typically, require these points. So, you may wish to raise new units with your money, drafts and weapons points. All on replacements is not a good balance of your resources. That said, replacements...

It is possible to destroy a fort and then load onto ships. However, this is a tricky maneuver because you must load at sea instead of in a port. So if anything goes wrong, you do not load.

The supply loss is most likely due to the fact your units moved during severe weather. While you can sometimes mitigate this lose buy using rail movement, if you move during severe weather, you will take losses.
Had you simply staid in the town, you would not have experienced such a loss.
