I like it very much and will definitely buy the game. You guys really outdid yourselves and this is going to be my all -time favorite AGEOD game with this engine. You really found the right level for the engine to strut its stuff, so to speak. I do find that the screen scrolling is somewhat "sticky"...

Unfortunately, my experience with Paradox products and the firm has been very, very negative over a number of years and games. I am very disappointed in this development. It will probably conclude my interest in further game purchases from AGEOD since I cannot help but feel that over time, the Parad...

The screenshots are delightful and I really like how the map is coming along. It gives a good sense of terrain and realism. The unit counters are clear and logical too. This is shaping up really well!

It's coming along nicely. I like that the terrain is pretty clearly defined, which should help one decide where to attack and defend to best effect.

If it means you have more time to work on the game, by all means, work and let the goodies slide. I would rather have a good-playing game in (say) 12 months than 11 months worth of goodies, followed by a half-finished game.

Just my opinion, of course :D

I do like the colors and overall look, but I would prefer it if the cities and port symbols looked a bit more like they might look for real...not just symbolic buttons plunked down, but more "organic" as they might be seen from space. Just my opinion...but the map is definitely going in the right di...

Very pretty. I might even be tempted to use icons instead of NATO symbols for this one. I'm going to be curious to see how the game shows the historical trend in this period from maneuver to static trench warfare. It should start out allowing a lot of maneuver until the primacy of the defense steps ...

Exactly but don't forget also that minor nations or regional powerd will also need a huge job, even if non playable, just because we need accurate setup for armies, some significant leaders, some warships...to quote the minimum. I'd never denigrate the amount of research a game like this would requ...

The last thing we need is another Paradox-style monstrosity that tries to emulate running any country on the globe. In aiming for everything, they managed to compromise almost everything too, IMO. Jack of all Trades, etc. Let AGEOD design and optimize the game for the majors - that will be more than...

There are times when I enjoy some micro-management, though I admit I am no expert at tactical issues. I appreciate games (like the Total War series for example) that allow one to go in and manage the battles, and also to stay out of the fray and auto-resolve them...one gets a choice. That's really c...

Military units?

1. We saw in an early screenshot that land units were divisions. Is that still the case? Will there be higher HQ's as well? 2. How are warships managed? Individually or in squadrons or fleets? 3. Will there be support units such as artillery and engineers? 4. Will air power come into the game at som...

I like the initial choices of playable nations and hope that the game's follow on (expansion? VGN-2?) would opt for some more exotic choices. The reason I say that is that I would prefer the game be optimized for the initial nations and subsequently re-tuned or adapted to allow the others to be play...

Hi hohenlohe, yep it's me, good to see you here too. I am very much looking forward to this game, even more so than some others because the era has so much to offer and AGEOd is the best publisher of all, IMHO. They really care about us players here and that is hard to beat.

WOW! I just LOVE 3-D maps like this for my strategic games. They tell you so much, so elegantly and so realistically. Bravo! Excellent choice! I was afraid we might have a stylized "artsy" map but this is right on! Now how often can we expect updates? Is hourly too much to ask? :D

A really thoughtful review that came close to being a personal expose of the writer. I don't think there are many games out there that could evoke such a response from a non-wargame geek. Clearly he was out to experience something different and walked away enriched and subtly better informed about h...
