Re: Heading for a clear bright sun

So, is Maron a Maronite (and thus ends my puddle-deep knowledge about religious creeds in the Middle East)? War it is. With you leading Russia, it's hard to see how this is going to end well for the Ottomans. Oh well, perhaps the British and the French can keep things from getting out of hand. Well,...

Re: Heading for a clear bright sun

Olga doesn't sound very nice. I mean, taking over and obliterating a small child is bad enough, but her musings seem to veer mostly towards how she can best terrorize her surroundings and that seems very nihilistic.

Re: Heading for a clear bright sun

It's taken a while for me to take the bait, but I've finally read everything you've posted so far. It's intriguing, I'm looking forward to more. Nice touch, an update or two ago, talking about the rejuvenation equipment somewhere in North America (was one of your earlier agents Ponce de Leon?) and n...

It was a fun game to watch and apparently it was a fun game for the two of you to play. Great!

I like that last sketch of the negotiated settlement. Interesting to speculate how North America would develop after that turnout. :)

Cool! Sounds like an unexpectedly fun situation (unexpected in that I really thought it was all over after Pittsburgh, fun in that the two of you seem to be enjoying these extra innings). Feel like I should make a comment about my hometown suffering under French occupation, but I can't quite find th...

Interesting... I had not expected much from the Colonials (sorry, the Continentals) after you wiped out all their major holdings. It's nice to see that there's life left in this rebellion. And now the French and Spanish blunder in... Do the Americans still hold any ports where the French can land?

That's a very aggressive campaign you've played and it's paying off handsomely. Hard to see how the Colonials come back from this, especially since the last hope of the Revolution now appears to be Pittsburgh... I am at a loss for words. :)

Well, I didn't expect that! Looks like you broke the back of the Revolution, even if long-term its prospects were still quite good, with the intervention of the Continentals. Then again, would France really have gone to war with the British if the Union Jack had been flying from every major city in ...

If Pittsburgh is the big draw, then the British really have their American priorities messed up. ;) Looks good, I believe. I know you say that the tide will turn against you once the French and other Continentals start messing with your policing actions, but for now you seem to be doing an excellent...

Looks very good - I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. :p Side-stepping the David Cameron reference: what does that negotiation do for you? Does it impact the intervention level? And how does that work? Is there an arbitrary limit after which the French come wading ashore, or do higher numbers le...

That's a nice Hun invasion of the US mainland you've got going there. Furor Teutonicus and all that. You seem to have a tendency (is two isolated instances a tendency? I say it is!) to leave your vital depots unguarded. Let's hope vigabrand doesn't have any matches lying around... Historically speak...

Interesting... You're pacifying the Deep South: perhaps the northern colonies will gain their independence, while the South maintains its ties to its sovereign? I know, beyond the scope of this game, but an interesting thought. A shame about the denuding of Oswego. I hope you can restore the situati...

That's a fairly complex plan with multiple moving parts you have going there near Albany. Combined with the melting Canadians, I'm sure there is absolutely nothing that could possibly go wrong here... Washington and his mob of angry tea tossers looks intimidating. All I can say is: "Oof". That defeat at Boston was large. Yes, I hear what you say about the Americans' cohesion being wrecked, about setting up a defensive line around New York, but still, that was a large number of casualties. Still, progress in restoring the rule of law in the South is good and y...

In the meantime, much to the excitement of the Italian navy, the West African campaign means they go back to firing shells at large continents and small furry mammals To be fair, it's the most excitement the navy's had in all 70 years so far. You have to admire the British tenacity in hurling themselves against the defenses of Melbourne - to the very last man, horse and cannon. Was Kitchener any good in real life (obviously not a great swimmer, but that's not what I mean - was he a decent military commander)? You certainly got trounced in that round of combat. Germany got off pretty lightly, considering the French managed to capture Berlin twice and you had started a trend of beating up their armies (although the victory in Olmutz severely damaged your army there). There's a spectacular collapse if I ever saw one. And the biggest shock is that the Germans are buckling even faster than the Austrians! A French occupation of Berlin... Things never cease to amaze. They replaced every citizen on Vienna with German troops, and thus were able to hide in plain sight.
