Re: Why do I have supply here?

Supply in this game is annoying as heck. Always running out, can never replenish, get into a battle, insta-wipe. Probably one of the worst supply systems in a wargame I have seen. Don't get me started on storms happening all the time, and leaders not being able to board ships and escape in a besiege...

Like to See

What I would like to see is a continous game along historical lines, where when you meet a set of objectives, you then move on to the next one in historical order. So start with BoR, move to Hannibal, and then finally AJE but playing as the roman empire and developing it over time. Would be very coo...

Caesar vs. Pompey PBEM

So check this for battle results. I sortie out of Tarentum, 70,000 strong, legions , some praesidium, minimal. My opponent has 50,000 men. I am playing Pompey faction, my friend is playing Caesar. This battle was not Pompey vs Casesar, but subordinates. Battle result: my 70,000 are destroyed, like w...

Re: Supply

Essentially I use Impedimentia if I am besieging a city, and run supplies back and forth. Otherwise, I build depots, and then I build more depots, and so on, lol.

I am learning that lesson in Spain in the Second Punic War Scenario

Re: Supply

Your post is quite clear. My whole thought was I have depots, and I control adjacent provinces. Why does the supply not get sent from the city or wherever to replenish my supply in the field. From your response, that does not happen, I have to actually be in a supply centre for that. My follow up is...

Supply

How exactly does supply work? It never seems to replenish. I have size 4 depots and build castrums strategically and put size 4 depots in place, and yet it seems to take forever to replenish. What am I missing?

Re: Thoughts and comments

Agreed. I like Ageod games. I just think that this engine does not suit World War 1 for the things that I pointed out. This was a war of massed troops. If I attacked at the Somme, troops in the next sector do not rally over for defense. That just doesn't make sense. Agree, or disagree, just my thoug...

Thoughts and comments

So, I have been playing PBEM and it's been fun. But it also has not been fun. 1. Build times - if it says 60 days, then make it 60 days. I had ships say they would be ready in 360 days, that was in 1914 and we are in 1916. 2. Movement - if it tells you 8 days, or 20 or whatever, why is it that you a...

Re: Generals

I kept recruiting, and then it basically stopped letting me. When I tried to spend the EP to purchase more Generals, it didn't allow me to. Durk, on a side not, can you give me instructions on an Entente player making moves for both the WEst and East in a PBEM. And by instructions I mean something l...

Re: Generals

I did recruit all my generals in the box to the right of the screen. I do attach artillery, supply and infantry to the corps. However, corps if I recall in military turns could be made up of 3-4 infantry divisions. I mean, if they run out, why not drill down to the individual division commanders so ...

I have run out quite simply as the Germans and Austrians. I feel like what I am going to be left with is leaderless infantry. Any thought to expanding corps to allowing 4 divisions? Any thought to them adding more?

Do they have an option if you play as the entente that you can play both East and West? Is this something they could build for the future.

Campaign Game vs AI

Is there a way to play the Entente as both the East and West vs the AI? I know on PBEM there is a way to do it, however, can this be done when playing against the CPU?

I'm gonna guess there is no way to do this?

PBEM Question

Can the Entente player in PBEM play for both the West and East?

I find it would make for a better experience being able to play a human opponent for both the Western and Eastern Entente powers. I love the full control I have for the Central Powers, it's awesome.

Are there any optimum settings for PBEM?

My opponent and I have been playing with 15% replacements, and I do not like that setting at all. They don't seem to replenish units at all. Drives me nuts.

What are some other settings that should be adopted for PBEM?

I just started a PBEM not too long ago. It is a different kind of challenge, and it's early on. Trying to outthink, outfox a human player is something different than taking on the AI.

It seems after many tries that the key was using zip files. We have now had a number of moves that have gone through doing it this way. I'm cautiously very happy, this is my first foray into PBEM.

Ok, silly question, do we turn the AI off? I'm gonna say yes, but I don't know for sure. Only reason I ask is that i sent my .ord files to my opponent. He then placed his moves, ended the turn and sent me the .hst file. When I loaded the game, there were moves made that I did not make in my .ord fil...

PBEM questions

Ok, so I have an opponent. They are the Confederates, and I am the Union. If I understand correctly, the CSA player creates the game, gets the .hst file. He sends the .hst file to me, then I place my orders, and send the .ord file to him. The confederate player inputs their orders, then executes the...

Are there any beginner types or slightly better than beginner willing to try a PBEM with someone that has played the game a lot, but only finished one campaign as the Union and won. I would be looking to play as the Union. Oh, and I have never tried PBEM

The AI really after a while seems to not care about Virginia period and focuses on Richmond. Having said that, it almost seems they attempt a strategy to hold you at all places as long as they can, in Tennesse and Kentucky and so on. I've seen them commit a lot of forces in Missouri, retreating and ...
