Re: new game

Maybe Bonaparte era only have some interest-about 19th century European Wars- but US and Far east Asia dominates game market. And tactical dimension necessary for pbem nad more players? I've many doubts. :) I miss Philippe Thibaut's game designs and pbem all I can say. Ageod style Romance of Three ...

Re: new game

But all of this points to a solo game. Not a pbem game once me and Narwhal have played Rise of Prussia pbem for Paradox forums. There is already the Total War games exporting campaign to battlefield. What you describe not very traditional Ageod game, all the effort could better be used to create co...

Re: Turn resolution problem

Going back to main menu and not just crashing rings vaguely a bell to me. Perhaps it comes from missing files or corrupted files. I would suggest installing base EAW and see if it works, and then apply one patch after another, the older first. thanks Pocus tried, even with vanila version it brought...

Re: new game

Good point, totally agree.. WON2 (or NCP2!?) would be great!. i wonder if the new game is going to be released in 2021, and what would it be. most of the people expect Field of Glory Medievel but i am stilll hoping for something with shorter time frame to cover and more historical accurancy ...

Re: Turn resolution problem

Well, the obvious, did you install as and administrator and run as an administrator. And, did you update. I assume you are playing one faction against the AI. If so, try this. Enter all three factions and make a move for everyone, saving before you exit each faction. See if this helps. If so, you c...

Turn resolution problem

Hey, i reintalled EAW recently after few years of being out. After i give orders and click procced to the next turn game stated that it is creating AI files and throws me back to the start menu. Happened with all the scenarios, i tired issuing orders to all sides, did not help. Nothing like that hap...

great subject for a game

Hi, i am just finishing a great book. Would love to have a game about late XIX century and early XX century diplomacy/miliatry/economy struggle. PON 2 or something. Anyway - great great book. Its in audio version as well. https://www.amazon.pl/Sleepwalkers-How-Europe-Went-1914/dp/0141027827/ref=asc_...

Naval Warfare

I wanted to share few points about how is nawal war portiated in ageod games. When it comes to land warfare – this system is great in representing early modern conflicts. Supply, movement, terrain. All that stuff is done in a great way. Yet naval operations are not always that great. What was a real...

Re: Is this forum dead ?

Well said. No, there won't be, from me or Philippe Thibaut (which has his own company now) new games as detailed (military speaking, because Empires with its 400 interconnected buildings IS detailed) for the foreseeable future. Perhaps from another person? ehhh my heart is broken.... :) anyway, wha...

Re: Is this forum dead ?

I have the new Empires game. Combat resolution is not as sophisticated as AGE, but it is much more clearly presented to the player. In AGE, you get all the info, but it is a bit of a puzzle. In Empires, you see all the factors which go into resolution. That is one big improvement. But battle is les...

i really do hope it wont be just simple copy-paste of FOG in to XVII century europe Those yearly turns and huge regions were taking away some part of wargaming fun https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011390/discussions/0/4907188445920853774/?ctp=3 PocusFR [producent] 22 września o 16:41 Yes I can confir...

Re: Replacements

one can buy replacemnt in a game.

just hit F2 key.

choosing the right replacemnt and not starving your army is a key challange in the game - just as it was in early modern age warfare - protecting veteran units was important.

I think it’s middle ages... The only era that missed in AGEod’ games! BTW my guess 2 years ago about Rome before the release of FOGE was correct! :niark: i am pretty sure it will use FOG engine to redone PON and hit market gap there or use mechanism of exporting battles to Pike&Shot the way it ...

Re: Help needed

Yes, that is what I mean. I have found, and heard from others, that if you keep playing without quitting the game every couple turns, the game resolution slows down. Nothing else in options. Your pc may have some additional options. I do like monthly turns, but not everyone does. so just to be clea...

Re: Help needed

Nice comment about the time scale, I love monthly turns. In the options menu, the best thing you can do is allocate all the memory you can to running the game. If you are playing against AI, which I infer you are doing, close out the game every two or three turns. When you reopen the game the memor...

Re: Regions and provinces

Yes, I understand the intent. I think Paradox did that with 2 levels of granularity. That would require an extensive rework of the code and interface though. I know. And i guess most of the modern audience looks rather for GrandStrategy and Tactical Mix that Empires provide then for Grand Strategy+...

Regions and provinces

I am really enjoying Empires game. I like trade, economy and diplomacy. I really think Ageod did a breakthrough here. I was thinking how can this be transferred to operational level games – such as CWII or WON. I really like idea of grouping regions in to provinces. I wonder if for future Napoleonic...
