One more remark: pointing at a "good" side is hard in this conflict, but condemning France as a "bad" side here is pretty obvious to me. I don't really see why. From the French point of view, they were surrounded by Habsburg power. The Habsburgs controlled Spain, most of Italy, Austria, the Holy Ro...

It's still true that the entire point of the Allied landing at Salonika was to help out Serbia. Why bother landing there in the game if there's nothing they can do to help? If the game can't allow WE troops to enter EE territory for mechanical reasons, then instead maybe there could be some sort of ...

Well, in my own game, playing as the WE, the British submarines reached the Baltic by sailing up the Kiel Canal: http://www.mdd-marketing.co.uk/files/TEAW-kielcanal.jpg I'm not entirely sure the game is supposed to let them do that. I did think it was very sporting of the Germans, though!

How would that reflect on the historic examples of Belgium and Serbia? Belgian forces only held on to the tiniest bit of western Flanders (not even large enough for an EAW region) and the Serbs withdrew from their country entirely. So those are two examples of minors who refused to surrender, in th...

Are you playing a scenario where the Russians are restricted from forming armies in the first few turns, to represent the chaos and disorganisation of their rushed mobilisation?

Could we get those boxes to be outlined in different colors when a nation joins a side, maybe? Blue for Western Entente, the grey color for Central Powers, and green for eastern Entente. Or superimpose the symbol of the alliance over the box, if that would be easier. Countries which have surrendere...

But unlike the Germans the British had few MG units on higher echelons, if you have data for the evolution of these kinds of weapon dotations in the German units I'd be interest (first mention of Minenwerfer in division I found so far is for late 1915, not number for MG after 1914)... From what I'v...

Not on the grounds of nationality, but to reflect differences in training, doctrine and leadership that the different armies had. These differences were very real. I don't agree; I think that on the scale of a grand strategy game like this, those differences were minor. One army's doctrine wasn't d...

Given that the game engine takes into account so many factors when computing combat strength, I don't really see a problem that the base stats are almost the same for all nations. It certainly dodges any racial controversy as well which doesn't hurt ;) I don't know if there would be that much diffe...

So the limitation on the number of Armies is purely mechanical - you have to first go through the movement ritual. Not sure that mimics anything particularly historical. On the other hand, creating an army was, I gather, quite an involved process. It took time to gather the army assets, appoint gen...

The way the game should work is pretty simple: I ought to be able to tell some units to stay home and defend aggressively and others to MTSG as reserves. The concept is not that complicated. That seems sensible to me. 'Marching to the sound of the guns' is more of a 19th century concept. In the Fir...

Belgium only has an army led by Albert I of power 226, counting roughly 25.000 men. If I check my books, the Germans attacked Belgium with a force of about 600.000 men vs 110.000 Belgian troops. The Belgian army was 47,500 strong at the outbreak of war. They were able to mobilise up to a total of 1...

Perhaps the little flags that appear on the anonymous leader 'portraits' could also be added to the genuine historical portraits as well? Put them behind the main image so they don't obscure it, but you should still be able to see part of the flag peeping through.

Price of Glory is (a) too generic (b) has the same acronym (PoG) as Paths of Glory, the Ted Raicer boardgame of WW1, which might confuse things.

Would 'War to end wars' be better, though?

Colonial action 'Immigrants' not working properly

I posted about this a while back and got no response, but now there's an actual Technical Support sub-forum perhaps I'll have better luck. Bear in mind that when the Civil War starts, any of your units that were in territory that is now Confederate are moved automatically to the North. So yes, if you built a 'Richmond garrison' in 1855, that unit will be moved to Maryland or DC when war starts.
