Re: New AGEOD Friendly PC ?

Just with regards to scroll speed, I also found the following post from this thread: http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=51056 to be very helpful Old topic bump. But it's probably the same subject. Something I've experienced myself: If game feels laggy or just awfully slow when moving a mouse...

Re: grimjaw's change everything mod

Hey grimjaw,

I know you obviously never finished this due to the issues around 7 day turns - that said I’d be really interested in the map and other changes that you made :D

Any chance you still have those files and would be willing to share?

Cheers

Re: Murtagks(USA) vs Naturamix(CSA) The end of Naturmix series of wins (I hope)

Just wanted to say thank you (both) very much for this highly entertaining AAR - I've learnt a lot and most of all had a great time following along.

Keep it up!

Re: Naturamix(CSA) vs Murtagks(USA) Also Late to the Afterparty

I just wanted to post to say that I am following this with a keen interest - thanks for all the lovely writing and screenshots. This is indeed an interesting pickle, and just goes to show how quickly a superior position can (seemingly) turn into a potentially dangerous one. Gripping stuff :D Thanks ...

Sorry, I think I didn't express myself very clearly :bonk:

You definitely can merge them, but I think you cannot ever un-merge them.

Re: Came across this by accident

I'm speaking purely from ACW (1) knowledge here, but in that game the merging of two militia units could be done, but never undone. So it may well be the same here.

Re: Otho's Campaign

Hi Comtedemeighan, Indeed, and thanks for the quick write-up. It's gotten a bit scarce with AARs on these forums, so even a little one like this is good to see - especially for a game with I own but haven't played much of. Which of the AJE scenarios would you recommend for starting out (against the ...

Yes it can't, Clovis was finally against base RUS (why he exhiled to FY), moreover against Gold where he was no involved at all and he would say Gold and their devs are #@&% as usual when he disagree with somebody (so I think I am right to say that Ageod invited him to exhile by himself, heavy ...

Re: Will Units only be Giants ? Or will AGEOD Style Units be an Option?

Definitely a +1 on the old style counters for me.

I think it's important to keep an open mind and to embrace some innovation, and as such I wouldn't advocate having one or the other - but to have the option to switch back to those nice old counters would definitely be nice.

From memory, I was using this with a pre-RUS - Gold install - I assume it can't possibly work with the Gold version?

Re: How to get a new download for my copy?

In my experience, sending an e-mail to AGEOD with the serial number and confirmation email has led to them being able to provide a new download link. It may depend on the individual game, but it should definitely be worth a try.

Hi allan_boa, I'm glad you're enjoying the game - you're surely correct that it can be tough at the beginning, when you're still finding your way and what works for you and what doesn't. Regarding locked units, they are typically locked in two separate circumstances: - Locked by scripting: usually o...

Re: Eastern White first moves ?

Hi allan_boa, Ageod and Paradox had a cooperation for some time which resulted in a bit of crossover as far as forums were concerned. Yes - I noted that that AAR was for the Short Campaign - I had a look and there are some other RUS AARs on the paradox forum as well, but none in as great detail. -de...

Hi alla_boa, I can't help too much myself, but have you seen the AARs on the paradox forums as well? https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/who-put-the-stranded-admiral-in-charge-siberian-white-short-campaign-pbem.571687/ especially might be of use to you. -deguerra

Re: Random generals

I think you're right, Captain_Orso, that there isn't really a feasible way of getting this into the game currently, but I do have to agree that a dimension of not knowing who your best leaders are straight off the bat would be quite interesting. My two cents: - I think the 'randomizing' was an attem...

Hi Julie,

I'm afraid I'm no help with the text files either, but I certainly think you're onto something - this would be a very interesting feature.

Hope someone else can give you a hand with editing those text files!

Re: External PON AAR: United Kingdom

Thanks for this, it's a great read. I always want to get into PON properly, but the size and length of the game, and the complexity of the economic model always mean I get sidetracked after only a few turns. So it's all the more fascinating to read others' frolics into what is indubitably a very ric...

Yup, can confirm. I think the 'order' of lines that have the same value in a certain filter changes when you scroll. So for example if you filter by Money produced, a region that produces 3 will always appear above regions that produce 2 (obviously), but regions that produce 2 sometimes switch their...

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will respond to you, but in the meantime my 2 cents: 1) Exactly right. Oh no argument there, I've always been smitten with the AACW map and the CW2 one is growing on me.

This was more to enable out-of-game planning and post-game plotting of invasions and battles.

And more than a little bit of an obsession with maps on my part, no doubt :)

High Res Map for AACW use

Wasn't sure if there's a better subform to post this in. So I was always looking for a map to use while playing AACW that was both high resolution, but reasonably low density (in terms of stuff actually shown on the map) and I came across this: http://tile.loc.gov/image-services/jp2.py?data=/service...
