Re: Wars of Succesion

I have always thought that the Diadochi, in fact the entire Successor States period would make a fantastic game. As mentioned above the somewhat low morale or at leasat commitment of the troops to their leaders would have to be modelled but surely either operational morale or national morale or a mi...

Re: Wars of Succesion

Wow this is an old thread but I also feel that the AGE engine would make a great Peloponnesian, Alexander, Diadochi game. Why not all three in the AJE vein of (admiterdly large)DLC campaigns. The map should include Sicily and Italy and extend east to India and the Punjab. If necessary large area's c...

I have been looking in the ability files and STRONG MORALE is in the group that aplies to UNITS? Yet in the ACW_Leaders_List on the game disk it is an ability applied to Generals (Leaders). I have seen the SIGNAL ability applied to at least one General (Leader) as well, now that ability lists its AP...

In other words, you will NOT see a change as soon as you start the scenario even though you alter...

I slept on it and woke up thinking "it will come eventually" its a successful title and successful titles are always followed up in the long run.(It makes sound financial sense) Besides I was thinking about it and I have only been playing AACW for a coupla mnths, I sometimes think we wish for round ...

The Law of Diminishing returns is well documented in economic history. In war I would expect that Law Of Diminishing returns to kick in earlier and perhaps more aggresively than it would in peace time. Initially before operation Anaconda gets into full swing the CSA might get a decent level of retu...

P.S. I do think that William Mahone CSA should be given some sort of engineer special ability as he was a highlky innovative and successfull engineer and railroad, road builder. Yee Haa

Generals

Grays post clears mup a few things for me, I have found so many inconsistencies in the dates for the appearance of Generals. William Mahoe CSA is a good example he was promoted Brigadier General in November 1861, having already contributed to the bloodless capture of Norfolk Navy Yard. He first led ...

How would I shift the installation of AACW 1.15 that I have been messing about with and create a fresh installation to test with. That wasnt the best of descriptions. I have altered some generals and a few map features, production of war supplies and city size etc. What I want to do is have a clean ...

Sorry, in AACW(1) they don't have any effect on fort building. Interesting idea for AACW2 in the future. Forts played a very important role in the civil war especially in the first half. A perfect example were the twin Forts of Henry and Donnelson built to control the rivers Tennessee and the Cumbe...

Argh again. Look back at my second post Gray. I know that AGEOD is done with the game. I SAID ACW II! Then you go on about how difficult it is to change the tooltips. I really don't understand how a game can be patched but the tooltip aspect is just a little to much. And I do mean that, I simply do...

cotton embargo reversed?

I just activated the CSA Cotton Embargo and I am sure the effects worked the wrong way round. I lost the VP's and NM. As for the penalty in the Foreign Intervention Index it was beyond the supposed range of a negative result but just within the range of the possible positive bonus if as I suspect th...

One advantage I have noticed for KY is the amount of troops you can raise in the state increases with secession. You can raise more brigades in the state. You also get higher loyalty (which usually doesn't do much). If it joins the union, then you get less brigades that you can raise in the state. ...

If you are so inclined to attempt to hold Missouri, then build units there (before you lose all the cities). The issue it timing, nothing like building an artillery in Jefferson City, and watching the Union capture it 1 turn before completion. Remember, you don't control where units you build are c...
