Most of the scenarios don't have resources beyond the military ones. The scenarios ignore the economic, colonial, and diplomatic options of the grand campaign and focus just on the military campaigns. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's working as intended. If you like something more in-dep...

Now that this thread has become a Steam vs. non-Steam thread I apologize. I was just wondering if anyone had any news on how the game has been selling?

I find it much more annoying that I have 10+ games on my steam account but I am only allowed to play 1 at a time! So if I have my nephew and niece over I have to choose do I play a game or do they play a game I bought and paid for. I can understand that I cannot play two copies of the same game. Bu...

To Cayapo, You make some valid points about how sales no longer have anything to do with clearing inventory, and that Steam puts even successful games on sale. However, Steam doesn't put successful games on sale at 50% within months of initial release. I may be wrong and I hope I am, because I reall...

No, you don't. Just select Steam and click on offline mode. Seriously people, Steam is not the devil.

Why exactly wouldn't you guys buy it at steam? Just a general hate or is there a problem with the steam version? I tried the game with my brothers version and fell in love, but as everyone is bashing steam, I'm not sure where to buy it. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STEAM VERSION! You will hear a...

Nope, not this time. The annual summer fire sale happened a week or so ago. This is purely on its own.

Pride of Nations is now $10 on Steam, this seems like bad news to me. Did the game not do well, or is this just paradox being dumb?

From Colony to State

As the US I have been developing the Mid-West to the point where they have upgraded from protectorates to colonies. How do I get them to state status? Do I keep developing them manually or is it just a matter of time until they make the jump to states?

I believe that when it calculates your projected capital that it is including ALL of the goods that you have for sale. If you do not actually sell some of those goods to foreign nations then the projected income is too high. e.g. You have 20 iron for sale, but only 15 are bought. That extra 5 iron s...

Okay, I see what you're talking about now. Don't worry about the flames and such, I know you get messages about rampaging Indians and you see all those flames and you think you're in trouble, but really all that doesn't matter. The only thing that really matters is if they are destroying the colonia...

Okay, I'll try and explain it how I understand it. First of all, the Indians aren't really "nations", think of them more as rebels on "your" land. You own the land as colonial protectorates, they're just occupying them. Second, you already start off at war with Sioux and Cherokee, but not at war wit...

I believe that the system works fine right now. If you go and buy everything on the market then your private capital will quickly diminish and cause massive inflation. Your populace is not "free" money, at least it hasn't seemed that way for me. If you would like to run an experiment and prove one w...

Don't declare war! You won't really get anything out of it (historically, the USA never declared war officially against any tribe...). Best option--occupy all the area with troops. Build an outpost or fort on their capital region: APA - Flagstaff CHE - Las Cruces CRE - Athabasca NZP - Bozeman SIX -...

Yeah, actually that has me confused as well. I have a number of infantry units up in the Dakotas that are having no problem staying supplied, but my infantry in north texas all died while sitting on top of a depot. This doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

Supply Issues

Does anyone have any hints as to how I can get supplies to my troops in the Indian territories? I have built 2 level 2 depots and connected them by railroad to Saint Louis, but my guys are slowly dying. Any help would be much appreciated. Oh, and force levels are 6 brigades, so I don't think it's be...

Actually, I've been playing the US and the appropriation bills worked just fine for me. I only did the modest appropriations bill, but I got my free replacements. Also inflation appears to be working for me, at least it shows up under my "B" screen.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that the Italians and French weren't fighting together. See if you can find a "synchronize" command button. I used to get hurt badly in AACW when one corps would show up a day or two before the rest of my army and get totally wiped out.

Oh, and to attach a corp to an army is pretty simple. Just find a good 2 star or 3 star general, doesn't matter which. Place in a separate stack from your army, but in the same or a nearby region. Then there should be a button that lets you attach it to your army.

Well, I believe it works like AACW, and if that's the case then it works like this: 1) You need a 3 star general 2) You need an HQ 3) Put the general and HQ in a stack together and then you should see an action button that lets you create an army. One thing to keep in mind though, there may be some ...

Correct me if I'm wrong: the game costs 20 euros in Europe (that's what GG shop shows me) and 20 dollars in US (checked, for example, http://www.pcgamestore.com)? But that makes about 45% difference in price, considering exchange rates. Or am I missing something? I hate to be the one to tell you th...

I'm totally down to get a MP game started early. I'm in California so my timing might be a little off for European players, but if that's not a problem I'd love to play. I'd like to play as USA if I can, but I'm down to play any nation really.

Japan kind of an odd choice?

I am kind of perplexed as to why the developers decided to add Japan as a playable country over the Ottomans or the Chinese. I believe that both of those countries will be added by modders and may also get added in DLC, but until they add China as a playable nation it seems like Japan will be pointl...
