Re: Mod for 1701 WSS campaign

Same issue in our ongoing PBEM game, the treasure fleet was destroyed by several storms due to winter 1709 forced weather event. As a workaround, a Galleon unit was added to the ForcePool and buildable in Cadiz. Regards Thank you for the tip and the quick response. To follow up: I built the new Gal...

Re: Mod for 1701 WSS campaign

Interesting mod with a host of necessary fixes. Thanks for making this.

The storms are incredibly punishing though. It's early 1702 in my current test run and the entire Spanish treasure fleet just disappeared in a storm. Does that mean I won't have a treasure fleet for the rest of the game?

Re: Is this forum dead ?

It's very unfortunate, yeah. I'd like to be more active, but I check the forums every day and there's rarely anything new to respond to. Seems we've dropped below that critical mass where someone always has something to say.

Re: Dutch Reserve Stacks

Pardon the newbie question, but when the States General and England declare war on the Bourbons, two fairly large stacks appear, with the names "Holland Reserve" and "Nimegen Reserve." Are the regiments in those stacks somehow part of the replacement pool? Or can we distribute t...

Re: Gå–På!: Sweden, Great Northern War PBEM AAR

I appreciate the encouragement everybody, thank you. I'm glad this has been helpful and hope it's been entertaining as well. Tyler and I have decided to call it a game here. Basically every risk I've taken has swung my way, while Tyler's AGEOD experience bit him with the inconsistency in supply rule...

Re: Gå–På!: Sweden, Great Northern War PBEM AAR

Thanks all for your attention! 1702 here: https://imgur.com/a/hz3oi8M So far this one cuts off in October. I'm still waiting for my opponent to run November, he's been on vacation, but I've had this ready for a while and see no harm in posting it. Given the events of 1702, I imagine he's not all tha...

Re: Wars of Succession has been updated to version 1.01

* Changed behaviour to allow better access to Lines of Brabant event Any chance we could get a more detailed list of conditions needed to unlock this decision? Perhaps it's stilled bugged. It's 1704 in my game with elxaime, I've had Bedmar sitting in Louvain for nigh on two years now and the event ...

Thank you both for your kind words!

Year two, 1701, is here: https://imgur.com/a/J2BXTtt

Little in the way of large battles but I grab myself a significant amount of territory. Heavily damaged Polish-Saxon armies are playing keepaway, as they should be. 1702 is shaping up to be a good bit bloodier.

Gå–På!: Sweden, Great Northern War PBEM AAR

I present the first extant AAR for WoS, as far as I'm aware. Perhaps there are dozens of fresh-faced AARs out there, waiting anxiously to be posted, stymied by the stern and noble padlock on the AAR subforum. Maybe y'all can unlock it now and move this there? Unfortunately I'm cobbling it all togeth...

Re: Naval Interception

I remember a thread where one of the devs said the treasure fleet operates best if left untouched, though you may need to send ships to defend it. It's been a while since I played the campaign so I can't remember the schedule. If I can find an opponent I'd like to do an AAR of this campaign and get ...

Re: Preventing the swedes from landing in Sjælland

In fact I can confirm that this is coded in, just ran a test game where Karl appeared outside in Praesto next to Copenhagen in May, the turn his force is supposed to unlock. I rolled the save back and loaded up Sweden April orders--sure enough, Karl's force is locked in Helsingborg with no fleet to ...

I found an opponent for the GNW scenario and I'm really enjoying it. If anyone's looking for a PBEM opponent for any scenario please contact me, I'm happy to throw down with you.

Re: Preventing the swedes from landing in Sjælland

It feels coded to me too, I've never had a game where Karl doesn't show up in Sjaelland, yet I've had several where he refuses to move from Karlskrona afterwards. Would be no surprise to learn that there's a script in there to help the Sweden AI with the fiddly naval landing mechanics, but it falls ...

WSS PBEM - need opponents for any/all scenarios

Just picked up WSS, I'm finding it enjoyable but the AI isn't satisfying to play against. Ideally I'd like to play the GNW campaign on the Swedish side but I'm open to the other campaigns as well. This isn't my first AGEOD game but this would be my first PBEM; I'm familiar with some of the old Narwh...

my first exposure to AGEOD was Narwhal's 'Learning from Prussia' AAR on the paradox forums, from then I was hooked. it's unlikely I would have ever picked up an AGEOD title without reading that AAR. the interface looked pretty daunting so I was on the fence, but reading about the strategic depth the...
