Hi there, I use avast and it was causing WWI gold to freeze, I happened to have FSstart from when I play Ill 2 Sturmovik, so I thought I would try it with WWI gold, anyway Fstart basically strips down programs running in the background including Avast for me and I think it will stop Avira for you.....

No guide really. Those files are most of them Excel files with game data. Once modified, they are exported in csv format in the game and used in it.
