This is a great thread, restarted a new beta patch following this advise as USA. Have played to the start of 1851, in much better shape. Prior having all structures on would have massive stock-piles at some point there would be a global glut and then a crash in goods prices. For the first six months...

I have started a new game as USA, Prussia has declared war early on Belgium as well, it is early to mid 1850.

Can I ask for feedback on some of the longer event chains under the beta? Realise that some are multi-year so impossible to test in a short time but I'd really appreciate views on; a) are you seeing a Crimean War? If the main countries are AI controlled it should happen. b) American Civil War - is ...

May be he resigned on the way to Capitol Hill ;) . Seriously, you did not notice any kind of other event that could have caused the change? The 1852 election occurred Franklin Pierce won, at least according to the event message, which was in red in the message log. When the inauguration occurred in...

Just downloaded the new patch, many thanks to AGEOD for updating this gem. One minor thing, playing as the United States have had Dayton Ohio spring up twice. The eastern province should probably have either Canton or Youngstown as its name.

Seeing how I am completely addicted to Pride of Nations (PoN), I voted Pon II. Also voted for global WW II, dream game would be a game engine that let you play from 1850 to 1950, especially if the slow PoN turn resolution is addressed by the new ACW II engine. Also voted for Sci-Fi/post apocalypse, ...

When you press F4, make sure you look at your structure expenses. I was very surprised while playing the 1880 campaign as Germany that I was deficit and kept having the business demand private capital +1% inflation and +xxxx private capital, just about ruined my economy. It took me a while to figure...

Figured out that, it is necessary to save each AI that wish to intervene. Of course you are basically playing against yourself. Does anyone on the forum know how you can load an AI file without having to play a hot seat game against yourself?

Try playing at least a handful of countries either alone or with others, you will find this eases some of the economic issues. I have tried recently to bootstrap the AI, by trying a single player game, where I switch between Britain, France, and the US, and then at some point switch over to one of ...

Game Observations

I purchased the game as a self Christmas present back in 2011, of late it has been about the only game that I play. Have to tip my hat to the AGEOD development team, it is an amazing game. Victoria/Victoria II pale by comparison. I have played the grand campaign several times, mostly as Prussia, a c...
