Well Slitherine and Matrix Games do have pro-American established community in their games as far as I can tell. Not surprising new Ageod going for it. Still PON and ACW remake could be cool. Hope to see in new engine.
I believe one of the good aspects of Ageod games were Pbem. Besides being not operational it became more single player oriented recently. That's ok if that's more profitable. Empires was in a few ways closer to some things Philippe Thibaut did before AGEOD was founded. * EU1: He was the author of th...
I believe Slitherine&Matrix pure American gaming platform -even Iain McNeil tells :) . It is ok they promote War in the East II. Ageod games started as French&American conflicts. But with modders and devs Espana, Russian civil war, English War, Wars of Succession and Rise of Prussia. Hope to...
From the Slitherine site about Field of Glory Medieval: '29 nations and factions covering North and Central Europe from 1040 AD to 1270 AD.' So no Pechenegs but Cumans,no Seljuk Turks and Battle of Manzikert (1071). How it will be compatible- it doesn't need to be of course- with new Ageod game? No ...
It is wonderful how the game evolve into a very good game from a beta stage once. Persian DLC is also quite nice.
I couldn't find in options but is it possible to make written texts bigger. My 1366*768 resolution laptop monitor makes it hard to read all informative texts. Thanks.
I don't find how to get the game from KickStarter (contributor #112), I mean at Avalon Digital (not Steam, that I don't use). Did you get the game? It is fun. Avalon Digital did put quite a good game but hope one day Pocus and Miguel work together. New AGEOD engine can also do Latin America and Bol...
The problem is always with cavalry element, especially when your are buoild more cav units at the same time . More cav units you field, more cav chit yu wil need in reserve to build more. In any case, 3 chits are not enough. Yes Semyon Budyonny cavalry also have desertion. Red cavalry did historica...
There was 1 woman 'the woman' 'femme' P.Thibaut mentioned very interesting life in Wars of Succession game but couldn't find the post and the name. These were very historical games, thanks to developers.
I've remembered Squalor and Bertram playing and I've read those ROP pbem reports. I even remember playing Prussia against Squalor. Those were the days.. Not many players left in the past unfortunately
Yep. For me not seeing 57th Regiment of M.Kemal would be sad for me in AGEod game for 10 years playing this game. Good for you, you'll have more wargaming about what is yours.
All I agree with. What I mention was suddenly a group of modders won't appear with an idea of new ROP to Slitherine for the new engine. It takes time and first they must see XVI – XIX century game. It is not impossible for innovative people but very difficult task. I remember Altaris have designed E...
I think jump from ancient times to 18&19 century will be big for modders. I remember first RUS developed then RUS gold and Espana. AJE needed big testing maybe. If maybe another game about recent centuries with the new engine it will be easier for modders&scenario designers to have perspecti...
From my experience previous pbems there is anarchist faction player controlled and autonomous one, it serve the front realistic well against S. Whites. Poland is a bit tricky maybe it should need another player and Reds need a bit more strength. Defensive battles are powerful. Was it in reality.
I think American Civil War was one of the best conflicts Ageod created a game on it. Also I've great respect for Philippe Thibaut and Andatiep. Once upon a time they decided to design Turkish War of Independence (1919-1922) It would be very interesting game to play against Sultan, foreign interventi...
Habsburg, Ottoman and Romanov etc... For decadence&culture grand strategy? For a route in this maybe this can be better era in future. Political decisions and such. It can be rich and detailed more accurate info maybe.
What I see from Matrix forums, conflicts heavily oriented on WW'2. No offense but American players dominate wargaming industry. Rarely I see such as Iran&IRaq war in Campaign Series: Middle East 1948-1985 future design. Hope to see more cossacks more European conflicts in 17&19century.
I've remembered GrayLensman: He corrected me about location Tuscon or whatever it is called not very friendly.. Ok I may have spell wrong, not native language big fault
That maybe unfortunate bad language if that happened but I always think Clovis had a creative side in old Ageod engine. I followed his blog and beta test his version in pbem with 3 players in the past. Although any game is a history now apart from Field of Glory: Empires. Combined effort would be ve...
Yes I think I've used in last game. Although I don't remember dictatorship event happened in game. My theory is more about defense stronger -maybe stronger than in should be- in previous Ageod games including Rus. Newer titles have more higher offensive ratings than the defensive one in unit models....
If the Red player understands how to form divisions and armies under political officers, which is a mystery to most players for a long time, then the game is very balanced. Maybe it is even slightly favorable to the Red side as a solid Red player can take advantage of the optimum options/cards. The...
I agree. But my point wasn't about how much historical RUS is. :) It was about balance in VP for pbem about the difficulty for the RED side to win the game against similar level opponents. There is a goal for sure but not realistic in pbem for the Reds capture those locations with this army size. Hi...
