I've played PBEM with this setting as US. It is a totally different game. Such setting does force a more cautious/slower/duller game in the beginning which may be called "more historic". But as Jim-NC has noted in his posts frustrating situations happens now and then when your forces lock down in th...

Detach / Attach it from the army. It is attached to the Napoleon by default, but out of his command radius. After reattachment it is correctly assigned to the army of Italy.

Not a problem. When you mouse over your NM, it tells you the modifier for your level (just like everything else in the game). I am going by memory (a bit fuzzy at this time). Exactly. Precise numbers are: .... 76-85 NM - 90% cohesion; 86-95 NM - 95% cohesion; 96-105 NM - 100% cohesion; 106-115 NM -...

He is not useless overall as CSA is hard pressed to have enough ** generals in the West to form enough supporting defensive lines (strategic rating 4 is so much better than 3 also). And defensively he is not worse than Bragg and Hardee when they got promoted (isn't it sad for CSA?). On offense thoug...

Just to be sure - you've had 10 separate units (brigades/batteries/divisions, etc) within those two regions? Because there is common mistake of deploying, say, full corps with 4 divisions (made of some 20+ units) - but only 4 divisions count for the event purposes, not the total number batteries/bri...

I'm definitely no expert also to provide a definite answer. One more point of consideration would be cohesion of the assaulting force - you've mentioned it is "arriving", so not in the top condition. Such situation should be mentioned in the message log though (as far as I remember), so easy to check.

Spanish campaign in Napoleon Campaigns is somewhat comparable in time scale, but IMHO is much more dull than AACW grand campaign. Map is a lot smaller and - as was said above - there are no economic aspect of the game, no unit building/reinforcments as such. And too many errors :( .
