Re: Civil War III

http://www.nellaware.com/blog/civil-war-army-organization-and-order-of-rank.html This states that CSA Divisions were sometimes twice as large as the Union's. That was due to lack of high ranking Generals. On the battlefield however, the largest tactical unit was still the brigade on both sides. Als...

Re: Interested in a Civil War II Gold version?

One golden rule of thumb this game brillantly follows: If a system needs to be balanced, there need to be restrictions. I believe it should stay that way. Lifting restrictions is never an addition, but a substraction wich normally favours the stronger side unproportionally. The seniority system e.g....

It should be the other way around. Unlocked before 01.01.1807 and then get unlocked.

Nizami-i-Cedid and Empire Reforms

It is 1808, Mustava IV is alive, the material needed is present, yet the Nizami i Cedid option is still marked as locked, as is the Empire Reforms option, for wich I am still short of a few EPs.

What am I missing?

Re: The Most Complex AGEOD Game ?

WON had technical issues on release wich now seem to be fixed.

However, it still shines most in multiplayer (where I do love it).

The most complex game maybe is CW2, because so many decisions can have huge impact on the outcome of the game. Especially as Rebels player.

I figure those were replacements for elements that had been destroyed during battle. "Healing" of elements usually isn't mentioned in the log.

Your relationship is so abysmal that you are practically at war, without having de jure declared it. That happens with all unorganized nations I believe.

Re: Questions from a new player of the game

In the war production screen there is a tiny figure in the upper right corner of each unit being built. That's the approximate number of turns left. When you go to the town where a unit is being built and select that unit, the number of days left is indicated when you hover the mouse over its pictur...

As per observation the fleets transport capacity is treated as whole and only gets diminished, when the transports loses elements. Then a part of the expedition force gets lost, but I don't know the formula.

Anybody observed else?

Re: Difficulty Settings

I had best results with slightly extended range and an advantage in activation for the ai. Having your own troops being stalled while inactive while ai only loses performance while inactive seems to do it. Edge in production is not so much needed I always found. But if you really want to use the gam...

There is only so many ways how tactical means like marching seperately and striking united can be modelled on our limited engines (both, software and hardware wise). Armies did cover large areas, jockeyed for position, held lines of communications, kept in touch via couriers, anticipated enemie's mo...

It might be the case that they don't have merchant ships in their force pool at all.

There is a database file somewhere, where you can check.

That is too much fishing in the dark here. Without sseing the composition of the stacks, there is hard telling. * As has been stated, the Army stack needs to contain combat units to get committed via MTSG at all. What? Where does it say that? That was misleading indeed. It was always my understanin...

Re: Game crashes

Quick guess would be that a unit is referenced for some action that is not there anymore. (Group (UID/Name) 1044527 1.Garrison Bn. Tradepost)
See if you can find appearances of that particular unit in your savefile and if yes simply edit it out.
That would at least be may first step.

I have digged a bit in the event code. Have I understood correctly, that a chance of 25% exists over a rather long period of time to backfire. Is that correct and if so, has anybody ever successfully reformed Ottos?

That was rather a figure of speech.
