Re: Hold at all costs

I think it has failed loggic in HAAC calculations. Formula doesn't factor in % of casualties. It only has power ratios, posture coefficients, trench value and random dice. I had 2% casualties and they retreated because on a big number of combat turns, eventually low dice roll for retreat will appea...

CW2 opponent wanted

Historical Attrition
Slightly Randomized Generals
Medium Delay
Easy Supply Off
Traffic Penalty Low

I play either side, you may host, game can be registered at TWC, 3-5 turns per week.

If you want to write an AAR we can go at slower pace.

Houserules as will be discussed.

Re: Appalling lag. Is there a cure?

Not an expert in Steam, but at least a part of the overlay can be disabled for certain games. Functions like messages and such, that you normally reach via shift-tab or whatever the keys are. Try to locate the exe in Steam\steamapps\common\ and change the compatibilty mode just to try. Also turning ...

AgeWiki problem

Is it just me?
Agewiki pages are blank for me, regardless of browser (haven't tried ie on other machine though). I can see the "source" page but apart from that all else is blank.

Or did it move to somewhere else than ageod.net?

Re: Can the Austria join Coalition in 1805 Scripted Event be removed?

I agree here. There are reasons for Austria and France to get along, as Talleyrand pointed out to Napoleon. I love the effort being put into those scripts, wich bring the game alive, especially in singleplayer. They should be optional though in MP in the regard to questions of alliance and war and p...

Find the leader on the map, put him into an own stack (must be leader), find the promotion special order (same column as where you form divisions etc), press button, wait till next turn, voilá.

Also affects eastern Prussia Byalistock region. If the supply issue is the reason (which is a poor solution imo if that is the case), then why even bother with the national borders where they are located? Totally forgot, that Prussia got that in the third Polish division. So I never really took not...

We should at least try for new players. If none currently comes, I could run another one besides US in "defensive" mode.

Anybody has email of former players?

Re: "Crazy Surrending rules & Ageod backup for this game"

Ageod titles, with all that has been done over the years on the machine side, still rely on the players insight and wisdom. That not everything that the code allows is a valid choice in order to have a good game. People forget that we play together to have fun. No code can substitute that. Not when ...

Re: Things I've been wrong about (or learned, or both)

The terms brigade and divisions were actually used differently in the respective armies. If I remember correctly, it was a matter of size, due to the different supply with officers in both armies. A brigade is referred to as a formation of subunits that work together to achieve a certain tactical ta...

Aren't those peace options one-way-streets? I always thought that certain conditions need to be met and then Austria can't do anything about it.

Is there any possibilty to force peace on an opponent in WON and how?

Re: Wallachia and Moldavia ? <vassal of ottoman>

Vassal is not a term with just one meaning. In the case of Wallachia it meant a state of suzerainity, wich means they were not only paying tribute while still independent. Their foreign relations were also ruled by the Sublime Porte, too. Their relation was such that they enjoyed certain freedom in ...

Re: Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

The system with an unblockable Matagorda on one hand and the probability to lose some RGDs by the "rotting cotton"-event on the other hand, reflects the resiliience yet unpredictibility of the second economy in a beautifully crafted manner.
