Re: A 36th State in the Union - Event

And a follow up to this:
The Lincoln reelect event in November 1864 mentions a Victory Level of 125 while the "Scores & Objectives" page shows 185. Again I guess the later is correct.

A 36th State in the Union - Event

Nothing big but I guess the misinformation about the Victory level threshold is something that should be corrected.
The Event pop-up text mentions a Victory Level of 150 while the "Scores & Objectives" page still shows 200. I guess the later is correct.

Re: Out of State Militia bug.

Would upgrading a running game be without danger? And I see more values in the file: areaOutsideHomeAbi = -1 // -1 level to abies (can render them inactive) areaOutsideHomeStr = -2 // Strategic areaOutsideHomeOff = -2 // Offensive areaOutsideHomeDef = -1 // Defensive areaOutsideHomeTQ = -3 // TQ (an...

Re: State & Goverment troops

Yes, many things discussed lately are maybe not worth to be put into CW2 but are surely something to consider for a CW3. Still one could always try these ideas in CW2 to test them and see if they are worth to be put into CW3.

Re: State & Goverment troops

@Durk My ideas were not meant to represent the structure through the entire war. It's obvious when looking at the beginning of the War that there was a special situation that would have to be represented differently. The drawing of volunteer from existing long standing militia units for the fighting...

State & Goverment troops

Hi As I was thinking about the various types of troops in regards to the brigade composition problem(look here if interested: http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=331&t=50924 ) it came to my mind that beside the brigade composition the overall differences could or should be depicted strong...

Re: Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

Converting the resources on hand would also be nice for the Union. WS pool is very large in my current game and I don't know what to do as I just miss the money to utilize the WS for some fancy Ironclads or other stuff that uses a lot WS. The simple conversion event each tun that takes 50 WS and giv...

Re: Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

What bothers me is that the Union has no impact on the cotton things, not the cards nor the events nor the export except for the blockade. And at best the blockade can block the cotton warehouses and lower their income and that is all. It's a pity that the whole resource based system didn't went liv...

Re: Replacing Army Commanders

This concept of commanding army groups makes me think that the 4-Star level should be used to allow for such to happen. Not sure how the game engine handles a 4-star, I think we have Winfield Scott depicting this as CO of all Union forces but I can't remember what impact he had in the game. Not sure...

Re: Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

Couldn't cotton be a unit? The hits stand for the amount of the cotton, and every hit stands for 1$. And you could adjust other values to depict certain things. It was not viable to transport all the cotton OK, so you make the unit very slow. But to still give a way to transport some cotton another ...

Re: Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

Well maybe we can find out the true intention of what this RGD is supposed to depict. - If it should depict smugging through a specific region/port it should obviously not work if that region/port is occupied or blocked. - If it depicts the smuggling of cotton along the gulf coast it should obviousl...

Matagorda - Block Cotton selling

Well I had hope to stop the Confederates from selling cotton when I conquered Matagorda but nothing.
If cotton selling is supposed to still work it would be nice if the Confederates need other costal regions for it.

Re: Replacing Army Commanders

That really works without penalties?
Looks like some oversight, I guess this merging could/should be denied just like the splitting of a transport fleet is denied because it would lead to the destruction of some of the loaded forces.

Re: Who are more important, Corps or Division COs?

On top of comes that the usual 1 star division won't have enough CP and has to take -10%.
But the wrong PWR is really a trouble, I had already witnessed that the PWR changes when you processed a turn and reloaded it.

Re: Militia / Volunteer retain Home Area after training

I haven't checked that specific Kentucky unit but did check some others. 1. Those Volunteer Militas that are trained by a training general and that end up as "Inf (conscrip) Rgt" won't train any further like a normal conscript regiment would do, at least not by those training generals. I g...

Re: Who are more important, Corps or Division COs?

Yea the calculation of what is passed on would be interesting. I think there is no limit of what is passed on as long as the values won't reach thos of the Army CO. That means a bad 2-star gets more points than a not so bad 2-star, while a 2 star that is a bit better than the Army CO doesn't receive...

Who are more important, Corps or Division COs?

Corps COs can get a lot bonus from the Army CO and have their stats considerably raised, it's not the same with Division COs that keep their stats. But what is now more important? I wonder if I should promote my good division COs to Corps COs, a good Corps CO won't get much benefit of the Army CO if...

Re: Replacing Army Commanders

I wrote extensively in another thread not too long ago about my thoughts on how command and control might be more realistically organized. I included the concept of relegating unfavorable commanders to remote areas, but you've given be a more refined idea. Seniority really shouldn't be moved around...

Re: Replacing Army Commanders

I just tested my theory and it works. I replaced Banks(seniority 11) with McClellan(seniority 3) and had to pay nothing. I'm not sure if one has to do it in a specific order but I relieved them both of Army command, put Banks into Mc's stack and reformed the army. There was no drop in moral nor VP. ...

Re: Replacing Army Commanders

Well the reason for relieving an Army CO is that I'm already at the max number of Armies, and I would like to free some up for better 3 Star generals. It seems to me it would be worse to replace Banks right away with a lower seniority guy if I could instead relief him by Grant who has a higher senio...

Replacing Army Commanders

As the tooltip is rather unclear for my intentions I would like to know exactly when I have to pay the penalties. It's obviously that NM & VP have to be paid if the Army CO is just dismissed. But currently I have to many Armies and would like to shrink their numbers. I thought about using an exi...

It's scenario 4 the Full 2 Theater campaign. The units are the normal Volunteers that can be build in all states. Here a picture of a Kentucky Volunteer unit after training, no home state, the picture in the stack panel is normal and it is listed a conscript in the inspection panel. http://i.imgur.c...

Can the posture of the stack(offensive/defensive) have impact on what is suffered by weather?
And as attrition is mentioned, does the posture have impact on hits taken by attrition?

Does anyone have a clue why Kentucky Militia / Volunteer train up to line infantry that has no home area while others(Massachusetts) train up but retain their home area.

Mh, what to do with those generals that you are forced to pass over?
I got some 2 stars I want to promote but Edwin Sumner has to be passed over, although his seniority is at 1 I still can't promote him what likely means I will never be able to promote him.
