Re: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and what are you doing these days thread!

I think you have to play They Are Billions a few times in Survival mode to learn the buildings and what they bring and generally how to use your time wisely. The guides in the Steam Community section of TAB are important, although everybody sometimes has their own opinion and you'll probably only le...

Re: Crash to Desktop

Yes, you can change General.opt manually--in fact all of the .opt files in the Settings folder. You should only manually change opt files where you are sure that it's okay. Changing LogBatch in General.opt is one of those cases. Always make a copy of the original to a safe place where you will be ab...

Re: Look at Previous .ord file

If you still have the backups, you will have the .hst file. It depends on how far you've gotten on from the turn you want to look at. Basically, this is how you would do that. You create a folder underneath 'C:\Users\your-user\My Documents\My Games\CivilWarII\CW2\Saves' named anything you want, let'...

*gasp* I missed this one. Actually I forgot it :siffle: The Trade and Commerce Boxes work the same way the Shipping Boxes work in CW2, except the Trade Boxes (Circles) are limited in their influence to their respective areas, noted in the tool-tips of each Trade Box. So they allow for moving supplie...

Re: Window Mode?

Yes, it can be run in windowed mode. Run AGESetting.exe and set windowed mode and choose with or without window borders. I would suggest using without borders, because with borders it is problematic to move the pointer to outside the window, without forcing the map to scroll, because when the pointe...

Re: Windows screen?

Run the AGESettings.exe program, Screen mode -> Standard, Window Mode, probably Fixed Resolution, with border. Without border can be a PITA at times. Alternatively, if you really wish to, you can manually edit Display.opt in the Settings folder, but you are responsible for doing it correctly, if you...

Re: Bombarding Passing Ships

Actually the DAR (Double Adjacency Rule) says "two adjacent regions", they do not both have to be water regions. For example, if the South controls the Annapolis region and has a stack in that region, which can bombard, and the North controls Baltimore, if the North sails a fleet from the ...

Re: Supply and Corp question please....

The total supply capacity is counted, so what ever ships have the greatest supply capacity will make the greatest difference, per ship. But having a large number of small ships, each with a small capacity should work exactly the same.

Re: My opponent is pissed (and i dont blame him)

Read your thread on Military Control. Your answer is there. -- For everybody: 1. A stack in PP (Passive Posture) has in, most case, no influence on the game. They will not block supply, gain MC, fight (mostly they just take hits and flail with their arms while getting kicked in the ass), or block mo...

Re: Military Control

Why do you say he's in defensive posture? You cannot see that unless you have FOW turned all the way off, if then. The stack is not in DP, it is in PP. Since your stack was in DP, and his in PP, he could cross the minor river, and enter your region, without triggering automatically going to OP. But,...

Re: Have Developers Abandoned WoN?

Ultimately it's an RTS... like Star Craft or Command-n-Conquer, but set in the American Civil War. But it can still be fun, especially if you forgive it's shortcomings, which begins with avoiding them. There are some good beginner's tutorials in the forum/steam community. Don't expect realism Supply...

Re: Rail lines

I see, so in my example, if Richmond is 5 regions away from Norfolk, then it would presumably take 5 turns to get supply from Norfolk to Richmond (if supply took one turn to move from region to region)? I said: If an hypothetical Supply Unit could move from region A to region B within one turn Supp...

Re: Supply and Corp question please....

1 EDIT - Solved :) 2, What is the rate needed for MC to push supply to the next hex? Is it like ACWII 25%? You require a minimum of 25% MC, but the more the better. Also any unopposed enemy unit in a region, regardless of MC, will block your supplies from moving through that region. 3. T...

Re: How does one find Divisions?

Using the F1 list, you can switch between stack and unit view. Switch to unit view and then filter for only units with a leader. You might find some brigades combined with a leader, but all divisions will always be displayed as units with a leader.

Re: Rail lines

Supplies always have the possibility to move through any non-blocked region. Of course, if you've damaged a rail line in the region it will be much more difficult to move supplies through that region. It will also prevent you from using the rail line to move troops quickly, so I'd advise being very...

Re: Rail lines

Damaging a rail line in a region does bring you 1 WSU per region. I'm not sure if Loyalty is the only factor in gaining the WSU. MC may also play a role. Also, it might reduce the development level in the region, which might make it more difficult to move supplies and troops through the region beyon...

Re: Battle Log Icons

The Battle Report has a minimum of 3 displays, (S), (E), and (1) through up to (7). (S) is at the Start of the battle, before anybody the first round of battle. (E) is at the end of the battle, after the last round of battle, but I'm not sure if retreat damage is included. (1) - (x) where 'x' is the...

Re: Windows 10

Something I've seen for a long time now. There seems to be a memory leak in the engine. Depending on how much ram you have and the number of units in the game, eventually you will get a memory access error and the game will ask if it should quit. The safest thing to do is quit after every turn execu...

Assuming that the Union player doesn't use RGD's in '62 to land sailors (4 total) and strip cannon from the Pacific fleet (2x12 lbers) while adding White Unionist militia units (8 total). There is no "split". Read what I wrote in my previous post. The Missouri Bde unit is spawned missing an element. A few turns later a second unit containing a single elite element spawns. I just checked the events. The second event looks for the Missouri Bde unit and spawns the second unit ...
