My list favorite part is NM seemed to be mostly gained from lost units. I would like to see casualties be the measuring stick. Also, I think only the winner gains the NM from destroyed units right?

I did have Lee on assault posture when I entered DC, however he decided not to assault after the actual battle probably because his cohesion was to low. I knew after that the game was over because he could just move the capitol. As far as offensives go I couldn't go anywhere in KY with Longstreets ...

Many thanks to Charles for accepting my offer to play. I am a big fan of his other Youtube video AAR's and was honored to be able to play him. He is an excellent player who taught me quite a bit, not only about the game but about my own play style as well. As far as the war went, I think I held my ...

First off, you cannot 'accompany' land units with naval combat units because you cannot stack land units using RivTP with naval units. You can only put land units in a naval stack if there are enough transports to carry the land units. The rest of your statement is true.[/QUOTE] I never said stackin...

Though I do find the uses of the River Transport to be somewhat problematic, I also wouldn't want to get bogged down in micromanaging dozens of transports, either. I wonder what the benefits to using transports are (aside from preserving RivTP for supply movement). You would think that troops on a ...

I assume by the navy you mean on ship units in the game and not by "riverine" movement. Is that correct?

PS: I think if you had taken several of your units already entrenched in DC and split them into different stacks, then targeted those stacks with incoming divisions, corps armies etc. Then they would of received the entrenchment level of the original unit. IE your most powerful fighting units would ...

Agreed, I waited 1 turn too late. Once I saw Forest come in, I should have brought more forces. By the next turn, it was too late. I'm hesitant to give up DC - it just seems to unrealistic. I think DC can hold with the 2 corps that are there. I didn't want to influence the game, so I held my tongue...

I've been watching he AAR. I thought if you kept St. Louis, held onto Mobile and the confederates were not able to break out from HF, to say Pittsburgh, or some other city you'd be in decent shape. Now you just seem pretty flucked.

That's a highly exaggerated myth, he drank only in periods of extreme lulls in campaigning and garrison duty like most other officers in the Army, never when important work had to be done.
