Re: Game crashes

Hi Citizen,

Thanks for your suggestion I will give it a try. I assume the save file is the one with the extension "hst".

I searched that file and found the offending reference and I have removed it I will shortly try to see if that worked.

Re: Trade and Missions

Been playing GBR recently. Prussia has been a pain launching wars against Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden. So perhaps picking on European minors is a strategy you could explore. Haven't seen the end of any of these wars so not sure if Prussia gains anything although they have occupied all the territ...

Re: Burma wars

Hi, I usually just slow conquer Burma, mostly I use Indian brigades. Any two will definitely hold a province as long as they have a gun except when facing the big army. I hunt the big army with four brigades/two divisions. Then I just colonise with the cards and wait. As regards Mandalay and the pro...

I wonder if you have a name for the planned war with Great Britain, if not can I suggest "The War of Welsh Rabbit"? Welsh rarebit or Welsh rabbit is a dish made with a savoury sauce of melted cheese and various other ingredients and served hot, after being poured over slices (or other pieces) of toa...

Perhaps PoN needs "Royal baby" events?

If you want to start a game I would suggest GB, it gets to do whatever it likes and is required to take an interest everywhere.
So I think it makes the best starting country.

Tonight on BBC radio 4 had a piece on the start of the American Civil War last night. Amazed to hear several americans who wished the South had won.
Surprised that 600k soldiers had died during the war.
Would the attack on Sumter have taken place if they knew the cost?

Great fun to read whats happening, tend to agree about papers. But I guess there has to be a penalty for not attacking, perhaps linked to places taken less places lost? Rather than casualties.

Yes very interesting to see how you are being so agressive. I guess the answer to my question I was going to ask about defending against rail cutting cavalry is your use of a patrolling brigade near grafton and garisonning key points. Do you reckon there is no point trying to pursue with cavalry, wa...

One thing I find difficult with strategic games before radio is the instantaneous transfer of knowledge. I suspect in real-life Hooker's adventure would not be known for some time? Similarly, the results of battles across a vast continent would be announced to different schedules. I guess where ther...
