New Install - Direct3D Error Upon Start

I have just installed the game and ran the latest update. When I click on play game, the black ageod screen comes on and, then immediately, the following error message occurs: " Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices. " I have an Alienware laptop with Windows 7. And, according to M...

Actually for the US expired enlistments were a factor all thru the war - 1 and 2 year hitches were up in 1863 and a lot of 3 year enlistments expired in 1864. I think it would be good to see this modelled. S! EC  Excellent point. Armies continue to grow with no attrition due to enlistment...

As a Federal officer I'd of course love to see AACW2 named "War of the Rebellion", but I am afraid it would never do. Every Southern sympathizer would claim it ought to be called "War of Northern Aggression". Southerner's are not offended by calling it the War of the Rebellion. In fact, ...

I hope everyone that is concerned about the South conducting ahistorical raids will willing accept the same restrictions on the North. Because it is equally frustrating to have numerous Union regiments running around behind the lines.

I have also noticed that after it does bombard, the unit reverts back to a no bombard status; otherwise, it will stay selected until the unit bombards an enemy fleet. This can be frustrating if you are trying to protect a river and forget to check your batteries guarding them every turn. Regards, Cp...

And, the South lost the War Between the States, so I guess us Southern boys would not be comfortable playing this!

Order of Battle

Is it possible to take an existing scenario's order of battle files and change them (i.e. take an existing unit of say three infantry, a cavalry, and an artillery element and change it to four or five infantry elements only) without having to create a whole new file from scratch, replace units on th...

Trouble Seeing Info

I installed the update and the quickfix 3. Now, certain information does not show up on the screen. On the objectives scr...

Unlike today, more often than not in the Civil War, brigades were commanded by Brig. Generals and Regiments were commanded by Colonels. One of the things to consider is that the Army never really had the command levels as they say they should be, even to this day, a brigade is commanded by a colonel versus a brigadier general.

The prisoner exchange feature currently is useless in PBEM games. After all, what Union player in his right mind is going to allow the Confederate player to get additional troops. The strength rating does not take into account the leader modifier. So, if a leader conveys a 20% modifier, the strength on the map may say 500, but the overall strength display of units to the player will show 600. At least, that is what is happening in my game.

C'mon PBEM'ers!! By the way, one of the lattes changes is dropping the minimum 5% Military control need to retreat to an area, as this made circling and eliminating full armies too easy. Battle of Culpepper - End Results Don't Jive

One of the things that I have noticed is that although you get money, conscripts, and supplies being generated by each state, when you raise units, you are not limited to what any one state can produce.
