Why is Foreign Intervention so low? Have rolls gone consistently against you?

Also, with shorter turns is FI change due to NM and VP twice faster?

I agree too. It is ridiculous to be able to control when peace is signed, what factory to build, what division goes where, but not to be able to control decision to sell Alaska. If one is playing Russia that won Crimean War with flying colours and has a good economy, selling Alaska makes no sense. K...

You have merchant ships in Baltic Sea trade box (not in the port) that allows you to trade with regions bordering the Baltic sea. Since you border nations in that region anyway, they serve little purpose there. Move them to a trade box that borders regions that you want to trade in.

Merchant fleets allow you to trade with regions bordering the trade zone they are in. From my experience, having merchant ships in Baltic and Black seas is pointless. Move some ships to Caribbean to get coffee and fruits (your enormous population will buy them, returning the cost of purchase with th...

As far as I know, ammunition is only an issue when there is a shortage of it. In you have lots of artillery that participates in lots of battles, you will start burning through it. If you burn at much faster rate than you can replace stocks, consequences can be disastrous (think Russia in 1915). Oth...

That's what I thought. But I don't have enough steel to build any. So, put out all sorts of buy orders; spent about 3 times as much as I exported--OOPS! It is totally fine to import more than you export as long domestic sales cover the difference. Huge population means huge domestic market, which i...

Build railroads in all industrial centres (you can worry about connecting them later). Get your own machine parts and manufactured goods production running. Invest in mussle-loaded rifles when you can - those will come handy during Crimean war.

Well, that seem... wastefull. All those complex screens look like they will give you historical feeling. France had how much, 3 wars to speak of? So everything goes straight to Total War style? That's sad. No, there are few wars, which means that it is a wargame for only a small portion of the time...

It is a wargame when there is a war (and a few turns immediately before the war putting everyone in their place). Most of the time, you are managing economical and social aspects of your nation.

I am wondering about this:

ctlAllowRetreat = 0 // Minimum control to have in a region to allow a retreat into it

If we change it to something like 5, does it mean that enemy has to stand and fight if they have no military control in any adjacent region?

I had same results and in my experience it is all due to fortress artillery. It can annihilate enemy so bad it is not even funny. As for effects of inflation, I haven't had it yet. Does it make everything more expensive to produce?

Unless you are Russia, France or USA, there is little you can do. If you are, you can get enough prestige to deny Britain its victory.

Is there a way to edit Britain's prestige in a save game? If so, you can just drop it by 10000 points and keep playing.

Try re-reading my post in regards to the "pre-plotted" moves. . Ah, I thought you referred to AI plotting moves at the same time as player is making his (like in WWI: La Grande Guerre). The way I see it is: - If the game is available outside Steam, get it outside Steam. Especially old games - some Steam offers are plain broken (Jagged Alliance 2 for example). - If game requires Steam, it is a pretty safe bet. If Steam goes down, companies will probably release "Steam-free" patches ...

You can simplify it a little already by unchecking the "AI more time" button in the options. As for the rest, this is a WEGO design meaning that once the AI has plotted the moves for all the AI factions, it takes the human player pre-plotted moves and "syncs" them day by day for all 15 days of the ...

Absolutely NOT the recommended way of reverting back. You have no idea of what v1.01g file might have been left that could cause problems later during your game play. The "f" patch specifically gets rid of previous older version files but does not know about "g" patch files and I'm not referring to...

Is the "Directx to Main invalid call (Burst Mode)" one of these confirmed crashes, or do you need a save game that is repeatable? I think I had that when I had the 1.01g siege crash. Why do you even need both of them in a force? Jackson alone (in a corps) provides 8 CPs and divisional commanders each provide enough to support their division.

I suggest moving Capital. I doubt Washington can hold long: it already looks breached and it does not have a fort. Confederates can probably storm it with 1:1 odds as long as their forces are at full cohesion. So, either relieve Washington fast or look at action elsewhere. Attacking piecemeal sounds...

Why not send everything from Fredericksburg to Alexandria? Right now, DC is by far the most important location in this war. FI is getting dangerously high. I have never seen it so high in 61. Did every roll go against you? 1 unlucky roll (on either side) can send Britain into the war.
