I can't answer your game questions as I'm still learning myself. But the forum search is on the main TEAW forum page. Look to the right just above the sub forums and below the thread page numbers, you'll see forum tools and search forum.

Thank you for the quick replies.

It looks like this is the game I've been looking for a long time. I'm looking forward to getting proficient enough in it to eventually join in a PBEM game.

Does game accurately recreate the western front stalemate of 1915-17?

Hi, I have recently purchased the game (I'm still wading through the manual) and I was wondering if the current version of the game recreates the stalemate that occurred on the western front? The reason I ask, is that I've read some old posts from back in December that discuss how the western front ...

I have not encountered this problem yet, but I would like to add some thoughts, if I may. I think the changes proposed by Calvinus make perfect sense, although I would like also to know how it worked in the boardgame and Philthib's views on it. Nevertheless, "historicity" and "plausibility" are ver...

i dislike surrendered country's giving right of passage to both sides. it leads to weird stuff like this. Ive run into situations like this myself. how about the surrendering country gives rights of passage to just the conquering side? is this possible? or am i missing something? if it is possible, ...

when i had this same problem, getting stuck on battle screen, i had to uninstall my avast anti virus (disabling it didnt help) and replace it with AVG.

after i did that my problem went away.

maybe WW1 doesn't like avira either.

In short, nothing the Kaiser's surface fleet could do would ever knock Britain out of the war unless the country decided to cut its losses and quit. This would be a political decision and hardly the Commander Grand Fleet's responsibility so Churchill's oft-repeated remark is pure hype, written for ...

i managed to get Persia on my side while playing cp. there were no brits in india so i just moved the Persians in and conquered the place.

i was surprised it was so easy. either the land route should be severed or make it 999 battles to conquer india. otherwise its to easy to take.

Put that one on the back burner-far back burner-like your neighbors back burner. :) ...Besides, we are talking about time periods of a month or more. Certainly there were elite units that could be pulled from the line and redirected for another mission within that time frame. If this is the only ar...

A key question one has to ask when modeling WW1 is; why if they were able to make tactical breakthroughs which they did repeatedly and increasingly as the war progressed, were they not able to exploit this at an operational level? s. im no expert on the matter, but i believe a couple of the reason ...

a workaround i use for this problem is simply to detach some corps from the hq originally in the region. i leave them there and move out the hq. the next turn i reassign the detachment i left behind to the new hq i wish to move into the region, then i simply move the new hq in. its a bit tedious, bu...

i guess its not as simple as just not allowing individual units to be activated only once, like hqs are?

would limiting corp reassignment to a sub phase at the beginning of a players military phase be easier? or would that cause more problems?

my 2 cents. imho offensive mine fields irl served to attrite the enemy, thus in that role they were more strategic in nature. offensive minefields didnt really have a operational or tactical role that would make them really belong in this game, at least not in the way suggested. imo if you must have...

During trench warfare you get reserve units from all (nearby) armies plus GHQ. yes but don't those units from other army's have to be in that other army's reserve. im getting the german marines, who are in the front line of one army showing up as a reserve unit for another army in a nearby battle. ...

i believe ive mentioned this before, but im still getting units that are in the front line of one army showing up as reserves for another army during trench warfare battles.

its my understanding that only units that are in the reserves should be able to do this, not front line units.
