A Q about entrenchment

Is there a way I can tell what the entrenchment level is for my forces ? Also is it possible to learn the entrenchment level of the enemy ? I can't see any info on the unit icon things . This would be very useful to know.

Thanks again

Inflaton

hi everyone Just started playing ACWII again after a 2 year hiatus. I knew back then they were planning some big improvements and man am impressed with what's been done since then ! OK a simple question. In ACW1 your inflation rate was listed on one of the screens but I've never been able to find it...

In ACW I - I modded the CSA events file to trigger FI toward the end of 1864 and it was great fun as the Confederate player to 'rescue' the Army of Canada with my navy deep into union territorry before the Union could build up troops to crush them. When I played the Union side I knew they'd want to ...

I'd like to see it too for replay button. A simple button you can click in the almanac to trigger it when you want it to occur. Would add to replay value a lot. As the Union you could trigger it by attacking Canada I suppose.

This occurred during the 2nd and 3rd turns of the game - no river or sea transports available then. Have to wait til north and south carolina secede in order to get these troops to move in direct path to norfolk instead of taking the extended scenic route through Tennesee which shouldn't be too long.

In one of the tutorials it shows how to do this as I recall. I'd prefer having a button for that like there was in the orginal game like you request.

Geohff Good call ! At this point in the game only Virginia, Tennessee and Arkansas had seceded. For the Carolina detachment to get to Norfolk from Ft Sumner I see it had to go all the way into Tennessee and then through Virginia to get there instead of using a shorter route. As we know, in the origi...

Unit Movement Time

Hi. After viewing the 3 tutorials I'm starting to wade into the game. I'm playing the south in the full 2 theatre campaign. On turn #1 I captured Ft. Sumner with the Carolina detachment in charlotte , SC. After waiting a turn I want to move them to norfolk and it takes 310 days to march and 62 days ...

The game has played much better on my desktop pc, however on the Aug 1915 turn there is a freezeup on this machine too. I've spent countless hours replaying previous turns, freeing up ram and trying other fixes and no matter what I do it always freezes on the Aug 1915 during the politics phase. I re...

Calivinus stated in another thread that it's better for a beginner to use WEGO mode which is the default setting when you install the game. Army by army mode is for advanced players so if you're a beginner it could make things more difficult. I've never tried it myself .

Using XP compatibility mode on my laptop had mixed results. It seemed to work about 1 in 3 times so for now I've given up on trying to play it on that machine. I guess it just doesn't have enough juice. I suspect it might be the video board. If they issue another driver update I'll give the game ano...

Just out of curiosity ( and desperation ) I uninstalled Avast and then rebooted and the game still froze up so it does not appear that Avast causes any problems. I think that I may have figured out the problem though. I tried playing in Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode and the turn playe...

I've tried to shut down as much stuff as I can - I even switched off my internet connection. I am reluctant to turn off any services when I don't understand what they do. I managed to free up almost 200k ram and the game still freezes up. Normally the political phase takes about a minute to finish w...

Yes Avast is a nice free program - the newest version has a silent gaming feature in it. I've tried using that and also have completely disabled it like you did with no luck. Fortunately when the game freezes I'm able to ALT/TAB out and shut it down in task manager like you do. It would be a royal p...

Before I describe the problem I'd like to clarify something. When you play against the computer just by yourself are you supposed to use the 2 player game or the 4 player game ? I am playing the 4 player game and have had major freezeup issues ever since I bought the game way back last fall. I also ...

I already have the 1.4 gigabyte gold version installed. I am trying to get the PATCH - not the entire game itself. There are some links posted in other threads for patches 1.08d and 108e - when I click any of these I get a 404 error.

Yes the full campaign scenario begins in April of 1961 . It's the 3rd scenario in the list and called 1861 : The Civil War (April - Full 2 Theatre Campaign). A couple questions

I am attempting to play the full campaign game with the Union. Why is it that I am not permitted to add units into any of my generals army's ? The manual says to click a button to add units but it is grayed out for every general so there is no way to get men into the armies like the manual says I sh...
