Ah well I can't say I'm too surprised by your response - maybe it's not worth pursuing. I imagine that the major obstacle would be how to find a means of feeding in the battle result back to RoP in a form in which it recognizes. When you are very, very old, as am I, memory dims, but I do seem to rec...

Engagement Question

Just musing. At the point in the RoP where an engagement is about to happen, battle or maybe skirmish, is there any possibility that the forces involved could be noted and the engagement played out with minatures, or, for example, the new H&M game which has an editor and the results fed back to RoP....

Good point regarding percentage losses. However, this does not detract from the fact that Frederick was an aggressive commander and a touch profligate in terms of his manpower. It will be very interesting to see how the outcome of battles is calculated in this game. On the one hand it will be necess...

Hi 1) Would infantry guns be counted as separated subunits? would they need separate replacement points from infantry 2) The Austrian 6pdr was the star of the war, being the first gun produced under the Griveaubal system, is that taken into the game? 3) Are howitzers represented as separated models...

Well Bern, that means I have to go into the game with debug on, in order to verify carefully the behaviour of AI when evaluating the surrender, but also for checking the new govt actions of A-H. I already have your save... ;) My only worry is to build a solution that will bring nations to surrender...

Spent a little time with 6b. One thing I have noticed is that the AI turns are now completed much quicker. Very welcome indeed. I'm particularly interested in the end game changes. I'm using a save game at Jan 1919 and playing through to May 1919. I've done this three times so far. The AI CP continu...

I'm trying to test this beta, but having a problem in editing the save game file. My particular interest is to see the effect of the surrender changes. I decided to start with a save game for Jan 1919. I've made the budget and main offensive changes but do not have the CombatDoctrine section and no ...

I understand the reason for having 0 value diplomat counters in the board game, but I don't think they are needed in the computer version. OK let me have another go at this, but first let me say that this has now become, for me, a major issue - to the extent that it has begun to colour my overall perception of the game. From the early Aug 1914 turn, this has been an excellent gaming experience - a really well-crafted, immersive and rea...

Sorry Calvinus - it appears my ISP has decided to take holidays from providing a service - I now get only a very occasional - and quick glimpse of the i/net. End Game

Must admit to being 'all of a dither' . It is March, 1918, and for several turns I, as the Entente, have been in complete control of the game. Entente troops occupy Berlin and pretty well all the major cities of Germany as well as most towns/regions. Most of the rail network is converted for...

Sound Related Game Crash

A number of folks have found it necessary to play the game without music and sound effects in order to avoid a situation where the game crashes. A couple of days ago, I got the same crash and have spent some time trying to identify the cause. I've also had the benefit of a couple of beta .exe files ...

Can you try please with no sounds and no musics (WW1 Configurator)? That did the trick the game progressed, tho' in stony silence. Clearly a sounds issue. Correct - I've now tried it six times - same crash at the same place each time. I did think about trying it with different options selected in the configurator, but I'm unsure if this will make any difference.

The marker simply tells that the control of the area is different from that one of the railroads. I often re-converted railtracks of areas reconquered. Ummm. At this stage, this is probably a fairly dumb question, but I'm going to raise it anyway :D . I've scoured the manual which is excellent, but I cannot see an explanation of the Railroad markers which appear when a region changes hands and tracks are converted. I've never been 100% confident that I u...
