I would really like to find out which number is correct. Even with overwhelming numbers it is difficult in 1865 to get the NM to 185 but 125 could be achieved just by taking Richmond. So the question as to which number is correct determines whether the Union can win in 1865 if they didn't have the p...

Lincoln Re-election Event

The Lincoln Re-election event that fires on the Late Nov 64 turn says that "threshold reset for defeat to 25 and victory to 125". However only the lower threshold is actually changed to 25. The Victory threshold stays at 185. Is the message in error or the game? I am running 1.15. I can attach files...

For what its worth I have been running 1.15 of the game under Win7 64 bit for some time without any problems. I haven't had to set anything special or disable anything to make it work. It is installed in a different folder (D:\\games) than Program Manger. However, my base install is the original ver...

I suspected that would be the case but since it takes playing a full game out to the end and having the same set of victory conditions to duplicate it will probably be many months or years before it can be confirmed in 1.15. However, I would suspect it will be still in 1.15 since this is a logic err...

Victory Bug When VP Victory

This happened in 1.14 and I have not confirmed the error in 1.15. The South had a Victory Point lead of 4862 to the Union 2197 but there was no National Morale victory possible (CSA 80 vs USA 98). The Union player was host for the game. At the end of turn 115 his game reported a Stalemate (both on s...

It is difficult to rate any general since when you come down to it it is an opinion. But AJ is probably badly underated with a 4-2-1 rating. His offensive and defensive should be much higher. If you step back and look at what he is being down rated for you will find they really don't reflect on his ...

Victory Points and Winning the Game

The manual says that if neither side gets an Automatic Victory based on National Morale then "The side with more VP's wins the war and the level of victory is based on the VP difference." As far as I can tell Victory Point are not used to determine anything about Victory or its Level. For example I ...

Apparently whoever set the stats for Albert weren't as impressed with his performance as Jeff Davis was. He is a dog and usually has to be sent south as soon as you have someone else to replace him with. He died to soon in the war to prove himself one way or another. The rating looks like his actual...

Yes, you have the option on the options menu  Regarding your worries... if i recall correctly, what you (CSA) get from the boxes depends of your runner numbers, not the USA blockaders. So everything looks OK to me :) The north blockaders affect the % blockade you can see on the box and th...

I'll have to look up what the Option is that was referred too. I assume it is one of the overal game settings. Putting transports in with the blockaders sounds like a workable idea. I will try that. Maintaining Blockade Fleets in Ocean Box

I finally finished a full campaign as USA player. During which I found, particularly toward the later years, that the game required a lot of micromanagement to keep Blockade Fleets deployed in the Ocean Blockade box. I had to regularly check them every turn to send some back for resupply and others ...

McClellan had two major flaws that undermined an otherwise above average leader. First, he fought ghost armies. This crippled his ability to go on the offensive and deliver the kind of killing blow the AoP was capable of in 1862. They had the numbers in Virginia to take Richmond. They had more than ...

I never said AACW was simple and avoided the term 'complex' as much as possible. I did say that it's child's play next to Chess and will maintain that. I described one ruleset as being smaller than another's. Perhaps to some, appearances mean a lot, but don't be deceived by the elegant and spare an...

In the Host's Save folder for the game you will find a ".rpl" file identified just like the ".trn" file you normally have to send your non-hosting opponent. If you send them that one then the "Replay" function on the game will work. Unfortunately it is a rather large file and may cause email problems.

I have noticed this as well (it happened in 1.13b also). If your stack disappeared, more often than not, your general died as well. I believe this is a WAD. If you'll reread the statement above that you quoted from me, you'll see that the issue has been addressed and will be available in the next QuickFix. To address the McDowell/Manassas issue, it was discovered that the 1861 April campaign incorrectly placed him and his army in Alexandria, VA on 1861/05/01. This is an historical error.
