But do the tweaking slowly, not to change the game to much. Only the replacements perhaps should be lowered more, they learned their trade in their units and perhaps they had few uniforms. A question about promotable leader for the Reds. Imagine the situation you have to promote a leader and a good...

My understanding is that you have the option to not attack into enemy territory but if you do not then there will be penalties in the form of a loss of NW.

Multiplayer game play is possible either via a LAN or the internet, however this is "real-time" play, not by e-mailed turns. Obviuosly this makes setting up multi-player games a little more difficult so I suspect that has something to do with it. Also Multi-player has only become reasonably reliable...

After looking at this some more it appears it might be the result of an incorrect error message and problems with the naval paths. For Example: I was constantly unable to move troops from Japan to Qing Tao and the message displayed read "Unable to move due to inclement weather" or something similar....

Thanks for your answer Calvinus. I've had alook at the data. I few quick questions if I may: 1) The climate descriptions appear correct for each sea zone (ie temperate, tropical etc). Is there a list somewhere that defines what value each climate has? 2) What is the "Sea Hazzard" value? I noticed th...

Weather at Sea!

I have started playing again after some time and am running the latest Beta patch (1.06i) The game seems about 90% "there" and I am quite enjoying it, but I have noticed what I think may be a bug. The weather at sea begins clear but as soon as the first fleet sails, from either side, it immediately ...

Non-WEGO mode

I haven't played ths game for a while. I want to get back into it, but think that single turn, army by army activation, is the most realistic way to play (as in the board game). I know in the past it was recommended to play only WEGO as turn based play caused problems. Does anyone know if turned bas...

Is there a 1.04d?

Hi guys,
I read in one of the posts that there was a 1.04d due to be released on the 26/11/08 (Yesterday) is this correct or was it a typo for 1.04c (which was made public on that date)?

Same problem with Japan. They have enough units to be quite useful taking Germany's pacific possessions but no naval transport. Is there any way to use their troops overseas? If not is there any reason to bother getting them into the allies? Historically the Japanese did grap Germany's chinese holdi...

I'm pretty sure that, at the moment, it is recommended to use WEGO mode. "Strictly turn based movement" and "Army by Army activation" are experiencing or causing some problems.

However this may have changed with patch 1.04c

Any word on this Calvinus or Phil?

Thanks for the hard work Calvinus.

I have actually had very few CDT's (I think 2 or 3 max) so my main problems were bugs in the game play, it looks like you have addressed quite a few of the most serious.

Keep it up.

In my particular case it is something other than a non - refresh bug. the units never appear on the map at all. But it ONLY seems to happen to units sent to the GHQ. For all units appearing as replacements at army level HQ there is no problem. Furthermore if I attach units to GHQ manually there is n...

Did you try to improve the wartime economy? "Improve wartime economy" is flawed, it works in reverse....ie when you select "improve the wartime economy" the CIVILLIAN economy increases and WAR TIME economy decreases. This is confirmed in all of my games. You can check it quickly yourself. Start in 1...

Where oh where are my units??

When units arrive as automatically placed re-inforcements at the army GHQ they simply don't appear. I have had the message that my French colonial troops (Algerians, Morrocans etc) are arriving at a particular province, (the location of the French GHQ) but the only units I ever have there are 2 figh...

Political attitude of the US

I am now very sure that the US reacts to events in the reverse manner to the way it should. When Britain declares war the US moves towards pro-central. I also had Germany play the event "sinking of the Lusitania".......against itself.......and again this event encouraged the US to be MORE pro centra...

AI can't handle events

The AI seems to have very serious trouble working out which events it should choose and how it should play (or NOT play) them. I have played part way through a GC for the Entente and so far germany has: 1) Inflicted a severe naval blockade......on ITSELF! 2)Removed the French Shock tactic (t...

Civil Production and War-Time Economy are synonims. The lower this value is set (max 9, min 0), the more War-Time economy works, but the lesser its expeditures are redirected to the Civilian Production, so generating social problems. This is a bug fixed with 1.0.4a. In fact, the political actions "...

Hoping someone could help me with these two aspects, these are my questions (at the moment ;) ) 1a) To set up a naval blockade of Germany do I only need to select the option "Naval Blockade" from the UK political options menu or do I need to also physically move Task Forces into sea zones? 1b) If I ...

Set munitions funding and then go back at a later phase (or the next turn) and the funding has reset to zero or some other expenditure that you didn't set.

I had a seige in Antwerp. There were defenders, but they were destroyed.

In regard to your previous question, under "game mechanics" I have

"Pursuits after battle"
"Counter-attacks"
"over-rns"

All other options set to off.

Yeap, I understand the turn based stuff. It is in WEGO mode
(Sstrictly turn based and Army by Army activation are turned OFF in the options.)
Also like I say I made my initial moves and battles Ok so it wasn't an activation problem.

Unit Skill and replacements

Hi all, I just have a couple of quick questions as I work through this game. Firstly - Do units skills improve through the game? For example if a particular corps starts as "Reservists" but survives, say, 6 months of combats will it improve to "regular" or "veteran" quality? Second question, if I cl...
