Actually, you do have the limitation in the form of command points. Because they aren't "armies" attached to a GHQ, they can command fewer troops effectively, simulating coordination and communication difficulties. However, I do agree that in the case of modern warfare, this ritual could be limited ...

As far as I know, this is already in the game, at least as concerns strategic cities. Perhaps the team would agree to make such events "red texts" that will pop out, so as to make developments clearer.

I can't figure out how to form GHQs. I am playing as the Eastern Entente and Samsonov, who is a 3 star general, is unable to form a GHQ. In fact none of the 3 star generals that I see can form GHQs. You can only have one GHQ. Only Germany is allowed two with a Western and Eastern front GHQs. As con...

Another way to keep a presence in an area and the entrenchment level in a adjecent region to the main battle would be to keep an uncommanded Corps or division in the same region as a commanded one, that way the commanded one can MTSG and the uncommanded one can stay in the trenches and defend if at...

They do, but they need to have a commander, ie. at least a ** general. Uncommanded stacks cannot participate in advanced army manoeuvres as far as I know.

noted, though i didn't save - not really a problem as the scenario is very short All games are automatically saved. So all you have to do is go back to the main menu, click LOAD, then select the save and then press the cog button in the upper right corner. This will open the save game manipulation ...

Let's not forget how the Adaptive Game Engine works in general and that is with factions (VGN being the only one where you control a specific nation as a faction). As far as I know (I could be wrong), controlling each nation would mean having separate factions for the UK, France, Russia, Serbia, etc...

You can either reload the turn and hope that this time around Hindenburg will not die or you could call up new general and maybe the dices will reward you with a three star general. Depending on the choice of your warplans, you should get one or two generals ready for promotion in the first couple o...

This might help: /snap/ While I cannot go into too much detail and will have to leave a proper reply to an AGEod employee, the turn length is the main reason why the western front is setup as it is right now. With 15 days done each turn, it is nearly impossible to simulate the Schlieffen plan and t...

Makes sense. Seems like you just have to play with a lot of CP penalties. As a matter of fact, you do not. At the beginning, I made the mistake of merging the different stacks to try and concentrate my troops, but after playing for quite a while, I realise that the best thing to do is to leave the ...

The end result is the Russians can stand up fairly well to the Central Powers, but they have trouble with maintaining against heavily sustained losses and building up artillery (artillery being the real key to breaking enemy lines in EAW). Don't worry, I'm not complaining about the Russians being t...

My recommendation after trying different scenarios and playing till the end of 1914, is to be on the defensive with Germany and go historical with Austria (although you have to be prepared to fight on the Italian front in early to mid 1915). The three German armies in the east are enough to push the...

I fully intend to buy TEAW when it releases -- I just have some very mixed feelings and misgivings about how closely the game appears to hew to the template provided by Gold. It's an interesting alternative plan, definitely the most ahistorical option available in EAW, but I think it's far from being the absolute definite choice. It will likely lead to Russia falling into Revolution a bit earlier (maybe mid-to-late 1916) and surrender following 6 months or so after that...

Well, this is a more than pleasant surprise. I intended to start a game of WWI Gold in the honour of the anniversary, but with EAW on the horizon, I might as well wait a while longer and give this a go when it comes out.

The only thing more exciting would be a Napoleon's Campaigns 2. ;)

Well, I posted a rant several hours ago, but decided in the light of my longtime dedication to AgeOD and its products to pull it down. /rant When I saw that NPC II was going to be released, I jumped in joy. Then I looked at the screenshots...A red mist descends. This isn't the NPC II that we, the fans, were hoping for. The Clausewitz engine, like all Paradox engines, isn't designed to be used for combat, but micromanagement. This i...

Setting up a multiplayer game

Well, I have so far managed to gift two copies of the game (third one on the horizon) and one of the "conditions" was an obligatory match with me using multiplayer. As I am quite new to this aspect of Ageod games in general, I was wondering what one should do, considering that there is nothing I cou...

Gifting games bought from the Ageod shop

Considering the great need to vote in favour of VGN, I have decided to be generous to some of my gaming friends and introduce them to the magnificent phenomenon that is Ageod. As such, I would like to know what are the legal "requirements" to gifting games bought from Nexway on the Ageod site? Most ...

Randomizing music

This is most probably the least important "proposal" someone has had on how to help this game become even better, yet since this seems to be a recurrent problem also in other Ageod games, I decided to finally bite the bullet and ask the question. What or who actually controls the choice of music in ...

Wait, you can't combine units while locked, can you? Otherwise all my units are locked. Plus, that's beside the point. Even when moving there are problems. As said, I'll check it out some more. In the end, I'd rather eat my hair than let this game go.
