Hi Gray, using 081102, I just installed over 1.11g (beta) (clean install and got the message to confirm I wanted to overwrite files so assuming installation procedure was correct) and started an April 1861 GC as CSA. Seems turns are advancing by month rather than bi-monthly. Forgive me if it's me be...

Wonder whether OP may not have allowed permission for AACW to change the registry? I use spybot and it's fine provided that you allow programmes you want to run alter the registry :)

Thanks Berto. The marathon battles are certainly a lot rarer in my games under the past couple of beta patches. The hard work has paid dividends there  Will find the relevant testing thread and see if I can feed back there about future games to those more knowledgeable about such things th...

Combat feedback from a dunce :D

Berto - battle results seem 'just right' for small engagements. Noticing however that in past couple of betas linked on this thread, CSA corps seem to be very easily lost in totality. Playing on default settings with historical attrition vs Athena and in past two games I seem to be seeing that the ...

And then I read somewhere that replacements can be used to add elements to some units? Hi Ayesh, good to see you :) If you hover the mouse over a 'stack' then you'll get a tooltip to appear which gives the combat strength of every brigade etc within that stack. Something like 24/24 for e...

know this may be silly ctd, but I had a similar problem when using newer patches. It was resolved by downloading the latest official drivers for my card and the last version of direct x 9 released.

For the resume bug, I don't get it yet. Played Bull Run, US side, one turn. AI moves (nice flanking btw!). Then I exit. I launch again the game, hit R in the Main Menu and I'm back with the US, as expected. => Do you have a way to reproduce the problem. I save game, I exit game. I relaunch game, hi...

Looking very nice so far (CSA, April 1861 campaign, late June, 1.11g clean install). Lots of changes to get to grips with - will feed back any combat reports once campaigning proper starts, as Berto requested. Thanks Pocus. edit: just a little thing I've noticed since the functionality of 'resume ga...

This may be related to cost of replacements, but mentioning it just in case, but the game also seems to be using up every single chit 'bought' (well, acquired as a freebie hehe) as a replacement every turn. Also, rail and river transportation (bought on economic map) are free. (1.11f on clean instal...

It depends on how long the tooltip setting is put for, whether or not you'll see the tooltip ;)

Got to confess I only realised you could do this when someone posted about right-clicking to change financial options about a week after I had the game, or I'd never have known

Gurkha Campaign

I hope this is allowed, it's not controversial really and it's good to offer support to vets who have served their countries. http://www.gurkhajustice.org.uk/ In brief, I'm sure most of you will be aware of the Gurkhas and their service in the British army. Recently the courts have ruled that the Br...

Do you have the game around? The engine automatically archives the turns for you. Think so Pocus. What files do you need? edit: save game folder as .rar. It was the only game in there. Drunk me vs Athena. Athena is winning. http://www.filefactory.com/file/628046/n/1861_April_Campaign0_rar

Boy, ain't that the truth! Thanks for the links. Looks like they were colonial troops, could have been from anywhere, probably not Haiti. Is there a possibility of having such a defence as an exceptionally (and I mean exceptionally) rare occurance?

I totally agree with your proposals, just think that it should still be 'possible' if ludicrously unlikely. If that makes sense :)

Kentucky Invaded by CSA - help please!

Hi guys, this event really, really confuses me. So if someone could explain how it works under 1.11d, that would be brilliant. My problem is that the Union seem to be able to do what they like in Kentucky (attack my forces, take towns etc, use it as shortcut through to other areas etc) whereas the m...

Hi Dixicrat, I think you had the very rare Charlestown event. I believe Pocus was using the renowned English sailor Edward Teach's blockade of Charlestown, South Carolina as his historical guide for this event. Hi Barker, I think the game is slightly bugged as it doesn't represent history here, so I'll give you how it works in-game and how it should be according to history. 1) You can in game but really this wasn't true during this time period. The experimentation carried out by the French during the Napol...

The benefits of a good moustache and set of sideburns in this period can only be attested to by the memoirs of one Brigadier-General Sir Harry Paget Flashman VC KCB KCIE (5 May 1822 – 1915).
