Although I sold my copy a long time ago, the Red Star/White Eagle boardgame by GDW seemed to have a very detailed OOB. I don't remember now if it included corps commanders.

Sorry folks, I am dropping out of the game. I soon will have much less time available for gaming, and the inability to produce early battleships after having researched the tech makes this game quite frustrating for me to play anyway. I will PM bjfagan my password in case anyone wants to take over C...

That might be a good idea actually, I already modded my coastal gunboats into merchant ships which China normally is never able to produce, maybe I can mod the junks into battleships!

Inability to produce early battleships

I completed the research field for early battleships, but can't produce them. Is this because I am playing a non-major (China), or do I also need Heavy Caliber Guns I to produce battleships that are supposed to have 10" guns?

You can use the SwitchFaction console command to change from one player-controlled country to an AI-controlled country, but I don't know how to make it so that you will add a player-controlled country while not losing control of the country you have control of already.

It is possible. There is a tutorial around here somewhere, or over on the old paradox forum. You can play any country in the game that way. Maybe not any country. When I tried to play Abyssinia, I encountered a critical error on its first turn http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3327436

Are you sure the shipyards have to be turned on? Christophe.Barot seems to think that "shipyards don't need to be on." (see post #7)

Shipyards producing merchant fleets

According to the rules, "Shipyards located in ports spontaneously produce transport replacements or a new full Merchant Fleet if enough excess replacements accumulate." (p. 36) Has anyone ever actually seen a new full Merchant Fleet appear in a shipyard as a result of this?

I'm going through the painful process of slowly scrapping my 1870s-1880s fleet, in part to clear up slots for the post 1900 stuff and in part as they are a drain on my coal stocks. I believe that the rules have been, no purchasing over your force pool (for anything). This would also apply to ships. There is no official house rule against purchasing over one's force pool in the official "CIE 2 house rules" file present in the CIE Redux dropbox folder, so if there indeed is suc...
