After playing the game for more than a year, I am suddenly getting this error message. It generally comes as the game starts to process the turn. I'm playing on steam, so I'm not sure if I'm able to try any of the solutions suggested here.
My nephew and I are playing our first game of AACWII, after waging numerous campaigns of the original. I just ran into something I can't find an explanation for. Playing as the Confederates I'm looking to reinforce my forces in Tennessee and freed up Stonewall Jackson's division. But when I try to m...

Is there an updated answer to this question? Haven't made the jump from AACW1 to AACW2 and I would like to know more about what I'm missing.
When facing an enemy with a strong defensive position where Corps from the same Army are in position to support each other by Marching to the Sound of the Guns, is it possible to use a small force to attack and hold one Corps in place, while concentrating the bulk of your forces against the other co...
I was beginning to think no one else was having any problems with this. I have upgraded to 1.03 and tried to use the canal without success. When I click on the location of the canal, it shows it as green which should mean active. But when I try to click on it, I get a message that you can not re-act...
Playing as France, I completed the Suez Canal more than a year ago,but I can't can't get my ships to travel through. I am playing 1.02. Even when I plot a course up to the Canal and then through, the ship will travel around Africa. Is there something else I need to do? I also just got the message th...
The attachment Germans - California.jpg is no longer available
I think this a bug, but one never knows. As far as I can tell there is no California Republic. The provinces of California all belong to the United States or the Apache. Is there someway to find if there is a California Republic somewhere else on the map?
I would like to suggest a change to Nebraska. The area listed as Western Iowa shows a port on the Missouri River identified as Des Moines. Des Moines in not on the Missouri, the port must represent Council Bluffs. However the area to the West is called Council Bluffs. I think it would be clearer to ...
I haven't seen this covered. Should elite brigades, like the Iron Brigade, the California Brigade, etc be merged into divisions, remain independent within a Corps or allowed to operate on their own? What do you find works best?
Me too. I was able to successfully destroy Fort Henry. I gave a full division the order to destroy Island 10. Two turns passed, the fort is still there, and I can no longer give the destroy fort order.
I just tried out Japan in the demo. Doesn't it seem a little strange that a closed country is given the opportunity to offer subsidies for imports of coal and steel?
I'm curious whether Admiral Perry's visit is an event or a decision undertaken by the US?
What about comparisions for things like cotton production or fleet size? I have a mission to become number 2 in the world in those categories. I punched through the ledger pages and didn't see anything that tells me what other nations have in those areas.
I'm just starting to poke around the demo. I have to admit it's a little overwhelming, but in a good way. Starting as the United States, I see that my number one colonial priority is Alaska, with Russia already having a strong CP there. Checking out the diplomatic options, I don't see an option to r...
I've searched the forum and the wiki and couldn't find an answer to this question - If a formation surrenders (as opposed to is destroyed) is the loss to NM 1 point, regardless of the number of units lost? My opponent just pointed out that seems to be the case in two very different situations, and I...
I'm wondering if someone could shed some light on this. When units are destroyed during a battle, there is a corresponding drop in national morale. However if the units aren't destroyed on the battle report, but there is an item on the log that the unit was pursued and destroyed, that doesn't seem t...
I was just looking at thet aacw wiki, and If you go to the index and click on depots and then scroll down the page it shows manual supply, it says " Naval Units Fleets at sea can replenish general supply from adjacent land regions with a stockpile, but they can only replen...
I'm hoping someone can take a look at this situation, and offer an explanation on how it happened. My Confederate opponent has blockaded several sections of the Cumberland, and launched an attack on the Union force in Nashville. Somehow Buell's Corp in Sumner managed to MTSG: ...
When was the Indian unit reforming bug fixed? I'm playing a game by mail with version 1.13b and just had it happen in March 1862 of a campaign game. I'm sure my opponent will want to keep playing. Will the duplicate units create any problems?
I feel like I've misunderstood some things for quite some time. :bonk: The manual says "Each structure and UNIT in the game will 'pull' a certain amount of supply each turn ... This process is automated and conducted in three consecutive 'push' steps taking many parameters into account." But now rea...
I'll certainly second the call for a battle report that provides a clearer picture of what happened, and what forces joined the battle at which point. The pie in the sky option takes it a step further and generates a brief (one paragraph ) written report in the style of the day: My Corps advanced on...
I'm not sure to what extent forts block supply by sea. Playing as the Union I've taken New Orleans, Mobile, Charleston and Savannah and never took any of the adjacent forts. Supply has poured in to all four cities without any problems. I am only using them to supply a division or two, so perhaps it'...
Okay, found the right spot in the manual, and as you said it's a 5% per point bonus. So if Slocum is a 3-3-3 the division he leads as a corps leader would get a 15% boost. But if that division is turned over to any 3-1-1 general, the bonus would be 20% (15% from Slocum, 5% from div gen)?? Do I under...
Also -- the leader you want to turn into a corps commander cannot have an attached division - if he has one, you need to empty him first. Is this correct? I transferred Slocum's (promoted to 2 stars) division to a Corps led by Crittenden, and Slocum took over command of the Corps (because of higher...
To me one of the most interesting parts of the game will be the ability to transform the world with the great projects that re-shaped the military, economic and political situation, like the Suez Canal. Pocus has said "you will get more than a multi choice event: "do you want to build the Suez Canal...
