Re: Crash to Desktop

After playing the game for more than a year, I am suddenly getting this error message. It generally comes as the game starts to process the turn. I'm playing on steam, so I'm not sure if I'm able to try any of the solutions suggested here.

Stonewall Won't Go

My nephew and I are playing our first game of AACWII, after waging numerous campaigns of the original. I just ran into something I can't find an explanation for. Playing as the Confederates I'm looking to reinforce my forces in Tennessee and freed up Stonewall Jackson's division. But when I try to m...

I think this a bug, but one never knows. As far as I can tell there is no California Republic. The provinces of California all belong to the United States or the Apache. Is there someway to find if there is a California Republic somewhere else on the map?

I haven't seen this covered. Should elite brigades, like the Iron Brigade, the California Brigade, etc be merged into divisions, remain independent within a Corps or allowed to operate on their own? What do you find works best?

I'm just starting to poke around the demo. I have to admit it's a little overwhelming, but in a good way. I've searched the forum and the wiki and couldn't find an answer to this question - If a formation surrenders (as opposed to is destroyed) is the loss to NM 1 point, regardless of the number of units lost? My opponent just pointed out that seems to be the case in two very different situations, and I...

I'm wondering if someone could shed some light on this. When units are destroyed during a battle, there is a corresponding drop in national morale. However if the units aren't destroyed on the battle report, but there is an item on the log that the unit was pursued and destroyed, that doesn't seem t...

I'll certainly second the call for a battle report that provides a clearer picture of what happened, and what forces joined the battle at which point. Okay, found the right spot in the manual, and as you said it's a 5% per point bonus. So if Slocum is a 3-3-3 the division he leads as a corps leader would get a 15% boost. But if that division is turned over to any 3-1-1 general, the bonus would be 20% (15% from Slocum, 5% from div gen)?? Do I under...

Also -- the leader you want to turn into a corps commander cannot have an attached division - if he has one, you need to empty him first. Is this correct? I transferred Slocum's (promoted to 2 stars) division to a Corps led by Crittenden, and Slocum took over command of the Corps (because of higher...

Great Projects

To me one of the most interesting parts of the game will be the ability to transform the world with the great projects that re-shaped the military, economic and political situation, like the Suez Canal. Pocus has said "you will get more than a multi choice event: "do you want to build the Suez Canal...
