Unless soloswolf is heard from, Banks will place his orders this turn too. We won't be waiting as long as we did last round. if nothing is heard from him, then isn't about time to start putting into place a better solution(calling for a replacement).....I would think these delays would also cause t...

So was a sub found......or will the next turn also take a month waiting around before someone steps in to get the turn processed?

On the bright side.....the west has been the least documented and so I would think it would be ok to recruit a new volunteer even if they have been reading the AARs. (or we could think of them having an unusually good spy network that has just been compromised). Bring in the subs :indien: , and lets...

....I ond't have any measures to take. When players remain incommunicado (for reasons unknown), it is impossible to know what is going on. Couldn't you have a weekly turn cycle, and if a person is not heard from in that time, have the alternate player (president or other CIC) make the move for them...

....could I suggest once again, that it would be nice if there was an agreed upon system for making a move for someone when they are AWOL (maybe after a turn has stagnated for a couple days or a week {first send them an email, and if no reply after two days, make their move}). The president (or some...

Screenshots for the latest turn are being worked on, to help out. Thanks for your screenshots....they do help.....even to show the "big picture" Sorry, but my screenshots will probably not be as detailed as the CinC's. So far the number of screenshots from both the CIC's out west has been a grand t...

Request for screen shots from out West

I know that every one is busy, but it would be nice if some screen-shots from out west were occasionally included. So far there have been none from either side of the conflict. :8o: With all the territory/city names being thrown around it is sometime hard to get a grasp of what is actually happening...

Andrew, thanks for the screenshot.....it really helps out in understanding the situation. Much more clear than if a city or region name is used by itself. Very nicely done update. :niark:

I'll try to post more details in the AAR, but quite frankly, in the east, not a whole lot has been going on to discuss. At least not much I know about :) Andrew, even if nothing seems to be happening, you can always talk a little about what your plans are......what you think the enemy is up to........

Request for more thoughts from the Players

Since the participants can't read the Audience Game Discussion thread, I thought I would summarize the feelings so far (....and add a few of my own). One of the ideas of having a Grand Campaign is so that the war can be played out by various people and personalities. It is hoped that we the audience...

There are a couple ways to get your desires out to the actual participants, so they that they can hopefully start adding more thoughts about the Campaign. 1) rate their thread - takes only about 10 seconds 2) post a polite request in the General Discussion thread. I think some of the players are wai...

I think this had been suggested by others already.....but before everyone treats this as the norm.....do you still have the turn file for this battle? If so, then rerun the turn 3-4 times and see if you get similar results, or will they be able to retreat as your brother had hoped. Seems like a good...

Love/Hate

Ah....the Grand Campaign.......it brings me back to the ol' Love/Hate relationship Love: I love hearing the ideas/strategies/reports of the various campaigners. This is one area where Athena is still pretty weak....she just plain falls short in the composing of good AAR's :innocent: Hate: Since I am...

This is absolutely as it should be. This issue is part roleplaying (the CinC East deals with constant badgering and second-guessing from "superiors" who can take a short buggy or train ride to see the troop dispositions for themselves, or who receive out-of-channel reports from the field), part fig...

I guess I am a little confused on the roles that are being played out.....because I would have thought that regional commanders would be in charge of troops in their areas, and Presidents would be in charge of "national" things (economy, purchasing, and politics) and naval operations. It would seem ...

one request

Great job guys. I am really looking forward to seeing how this Campaign plays out. One request: could every one please submit "something" each turn. Even if not much is happening (maybe a letter home to the missus), or you could share your ideas of what you would like to do down the road. If there i...

Unfortunately, it is going to be difficult to do a perfect simulation... As we are understanding ourselves while playing... The game is somewhat hard (for both sides) in the very early stages of the war, as early mistakes/misunderstandings... have a great impact on the game. Im sure once a few turn...

USD => EURO...painful

Zonkers......I have had to hold off on buying the game because my old computer wasn't up to running it.......but now with the sinking value of the dollar....the game cost $59.15. :8o: That hurts. Another bummer is that after a game has been out a while it will usually drop in price, but.......I'll s...

This is a small scenario to learn naval mechanisms...there is no Grande Armée in here...your goal is just to achieve Napoleon's naval plan, i.e. take control of the channel with your warfleet for at least 2 turns...that's all for the moment :indien: (Note: played with demo....I think that is 1c...I...

Pdubya64,

Unless you see big changes brought on by the new patch.....I would love to be able to see how the current game plays out.

Either way you decide, thanks for the AAR....it has been one of my favorites to follow.
