Hi Arsan
No, that is what happens in the Marius vs Sulla scenario, where I can get replacements for Hiempsal infantry, but in the Caesar vs Pompey that other African faction is missing from the replacement screen, so poor Juba can´t replace infantry losses, only cavalry

No African replacements in Caesar vs Pompey

I am playing v1.03, and when I activate Numidians under Pompey I find there is only replacements for the cavalry, but not for the African infantry, is that WAD?

Me gusta que el combat power esté ahora visible en el stack sin necesidad de clickear en él. Por otro lado me pregunto si el escenario de campaña completa incluirá las reglas sobre la neutralidad de Kentucky

Movement and stack size

Hi In ACW the speed of an stack is affected by external and internal factors, but among the internal factors size is not one of them. However historically the size of a force has a big impact on his rate of movement, the larger the force the slower the pace. That was especially true of large forces ...

In reality what happened was that Beauregard indeed retreated unmolested. That was considered in the Union as a shameful performance, despite taking Corinth and Memphis Beauregard´s army got away from a much stronger army without any loss. OTOH it was also considered shameful by the CSA government, ...

Every system can be broken, but the AGEOD system, except for using the services of a third party host, is so easy to take advantage of! I think that 99% of PBEM players would be happy with something that make cheating a bit difficult, a password and a reload counter, for instance.

I would add this wastage is also potentially true even without the cold weather. Napoleon's 1812 attrition rates were horrendous even before Borodino and the Russian winter hit. Aside from railways, Civil War troops were pretty much in the same boat as Napoleonic troops - everything had to be haule...

This applies to the CSA as well and in my pbems we adjust the CSA divisional limit up to 50 to allow for numerous "static" commands that will invariably appear in various cities and important locations behind the main army fronts. Or you can think of them as training divisions made up of a large % ...

To further clarify my point. Historically garrisons were very useful, the have several advantages absent in the game 1) Lower upkeeping cost. Units in garrison don´t need trains (supply, ammunition, bagage, artillery) nor the animals to pull the wagons. 2) They can train and drill, whgle units in ca...

Whai I mean is that the Union player is not required to garrison as much as historically, for instance the Army of Cumberland at the Battle of Stone river had just 44.000 from a total of 81.000 efectives, the rest dispersed in Garrisons. No Union player will put almost half his force in garrisons

Another question I would like to call the attention is the issue of garrisons. The Union fielded ablout double the numbers of the CSA, however almost half of the troops were regularly kept in garrison duties, protecting supply lines and keeping territory under control. In game terms garrison are no ...

I think you are missing that the war was fought in the southern US. The weather determines grass growth. If it is too hot or too cold you have the same problem. Grass will grow from about 56°F to about 88°F. Water levels are also a factor but mainly in summer. If it is just a matter of green forage...

Just make replacements rate slower at a depot, and at a snail's pace when out of depot, and you will get the desired effect. In your quote, the armies where resting because they were receiving and training their replacements. I was always amazed how fast the regiments would show up at full strength...

As an Historian focused on premodern military history I would like to clarify the point of campaigns in winter season. There are multiple examples of those campaigns, however it is true that most of the time it was avoided. The reason for that is not the weather in itself, it is the lack of green fo...

 I don't know if that would be easy to program, but the idea is good. Even better idea in which sending 2 e-mails per turn would be avoided. I plot the movements and send the file with the password. My opponent puts the file in save game folder but he cannot read them without the password...

I wonder if a proper PBEM system will be added. I mean one in which you can send a single file to your opponent. It would be a cheat prove system if the system is made so that, in the first turn you plot your movements, then send the file. Your opponent plot his movements, then send the file, I open...

But those similarities are superficial, Gettysburg was a meeting engagement in which Lee was blind about the real strength of the enemy, and Borodino was much more balanced than Kolin. At Shiloh Grant was not in command the first day, but in any case the CSA army marched a long way to surprise the U...

Many great generals make tactical errors out of desperation. Frederick in the 7 year war was no different

I have to say, I think Frederick's ratings look quite right! I would possibly go higher on the offensive rating, but I think it will work at 4. What are his ability symbols?
