This series is also good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDwHVFXYcro . I have only seen some of it on YouTube - look for the later episodes that cover many of the WiA scenarios (there are cuts though it seems) That video is from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's series "Canada: A People's Hist...

stockwellpete, I had the same initial opinion of this game as you. I too was overwhelmed with the complexity of trying to figure it out. But by playing the small scenarios that came with the game did I slowly learn the mechanics. Once you do develop a basic knowledge of the game, you will figure out...

I understand what you're writing, Random. Actually I just downloaded the same day that I posted and I haven't played WW1 for a few months now. But I definitely check back in this forum every few days for any news.

I downloaded V2 just now.

Thanks again!

1) I don't run WWI.exe with any compatibility mode setting. 2) I ran WWI using the default start and not the single core. Also have a look if have the DivX player/codec installed on your desktop. I think WW1 uses that to play the video at the start of the game. The game could have installed it alrea...

I'll take a stab at helping. Igor, check to see if your World One War Configurator settings (the Configurator should be in your World War One Start menu folder) are like mine as I run this game at 1920x1080 with Windows 7 64-bit and my Logitech mouse is working fine with the game. There is no hardwa...

Each to his own, but I like the fact that leaders can die anytime just like in real life. It forces you to anticipate the unexpected and react to it. Letting leaders live until their historic deaths makes the game more scripted and predictable.

No hooks as I've bought many games from GamersGate with absolutely no hassle. GG is an excellent online game store.

Although some say it is better to buy straight from the developer as they get more of a cut of the proceeds of the sale.

Yes, the same price reduction shall apply anytime soon on AGEOD, as it has been approved on friday. And we shall get some Xmas special offer rather soon too :coeurs:  Excellent! I was going to buy it off of Gamersgate, but I'll wait a day or two for the RoP sale to appear on your website.

I too have/had some problems with this screen, but calvinus' suggestion of right-clicking and grabbing a force and placing it anywhere on the map works. Do that and up pops a list of the armies you can assign the corps or unit too. The unit doesn't move to where the army is located, but it will desi...

Kudos!

Game log being cut off at bottom

For the Gold version, I've noticed that that last line of the game log is being cut off as seen in the two screenshots: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7481/60153940.jpg Notice the red line of the game log cut off? http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/9950/42307553.gif Or if the game log is at the ...

The Operational Art of War (TOAW) has 5 or 6 battle scenarios of the Russo-Polish War, but none on the actual RCW. There are a couple of TOAW scenarios that people have created that cover the entire civil war. Don't how good they are, but I've seen them on the web. I have to say that I really like ...
