Congratulations, I hope I have the same luck as you in my first game... Although I only seem to be 'holding my own' so far.. which will probably mean my morale will start dropping in a lil while being the USA.. But your right this is a great game!.. and a lot of great 'instruction' on this forum! :...

Just a thought on why TJ was idle in Winchester, late in '81 I was besieging Winchester and decided to destroy the Strasburg depot. With no depot nearby and the Union holding Charlottesville, Manassas and Covington, perhaps TJ's force in Winchester was out of supply?

Union early victory

Hello all. I wanted to thank everyone for the great advice in the forums. After a couple of full games and a few more unfinished, here is a decisive victory as the Union in Feb 1862. http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/496/victory1yz8.jpg In fact, it's the first time I 'beat' the CSA as oppo...

Jarkko speaks with the true truth. So, divisions with 1 SS, 4 arty and 13 militia elements x's as many as you can afford is better then regulars and elite brigades? Interesting, I've not tried that approach. I guess with the free Elite brigades you get, this is a valid strategy. I play as th...

Ledger question - I noticed that the ledger tabs now have new filters. Nice add on. However, I can't seem to find the 'generals' tab. It was always helpful to manage promotions.

Is there a way to access only generals in the ledger?

Give AI a medium FOG advantage , a +1 bonus in activation. Thanks Clovis. I'll give that a try on my next game. or, can I change settings mid-game? I've not tried that yet. Difficulty Settings

Hi all. Quick question about settings for a challenging game. I like to play as the Union and during my last game achieved a victory in early '63. The AI did make some significant mistakes, for example, she was very aggressive and I was able to trap and destroy two large corps in the Washington/Alex...

...the follow up punch. Very Napoleonic cutting down the stragglers. Great idea! I'll put that into practice in my current game :cwboy: My cav usually is relegated to destroying rail connections and deep raids into enemy territory. Now that P Sheridan just arrived for the Union, I'll put him to goo...

yes, click on both rail and river, then move to the region you want. aacw will path the most efficient way to get there; however, be aware of the path it sets. I've seen it take me thru enemy territory. if that happens you can manually set a safe path by going region to region. Not sure about the te...

Off the top of my head, I don't recall how many divisions the Johnnies were able to field once the nation was fully mobilized. In v. 1.09 the confederates are able muster 24 divisions. I believe this is a decent estimate, however in game terms, if the rebels are doing well, this makes no sense. Any...

That's the only way I've found to do it. :grr: I rarely put Cav inside a Division. Usually one of the brigades has an inherent Cav, so the division gainsthe sighting benefit that way. Cav are too useful to bury in Divisions. [of course, that's just MY way of doing it!] :niark: does it make sense to...
