Game crashes

Just bought game. Same exact problem I had with BoA2. Please help. It totally locks the entire computer and I have to hard reboot. As with BoA2 I have tried to figure out a pattern but have not. As with BoA2 I tried the recommended methods but these did not work. http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthrea...

windows 7 problem

I just installed BoA2 on my new Windows 7 Machine. The new computer is fully patched, newest drivers, and well beyond the system requirements. However, several turns into any scenario the whole thing locks up. Screen goes orange with black horizontal stripes. No error message or anything. In fact, i...

7 short topics/questions

Is it possible to rename armies/stacks? How does one “screen” an army with cavalry? Does anyone use the Loyalty settings to good effect? How many replacements are reasonable when purchasing? I read the thread on excessive cohesion loss and I agree that it is a bit severe. Some units reduce this I un...

Great Sioux Uprising Event

As Union player, I have yet to succeed in thwarting this event. I think it says it requires something like 4 units in Great Plains to prevent the loss of VP. After 5 different games, I have failed each and every time despite having 4 plus units in this area. What am I doing wrong?

Funny thing...I have had this problem with Grant as well. At first I figured I was pushing him too hard or asking him to do the impossible because he is Grant. Later I suspected there was some secret characteristics buried deep in the code (new leader skill = raging alcoholic, forces leader to lose ...

So then in cases where the army commander has a SR of 2, it is folly to assign him any corps since there is a 66% chance of -1 for those corps. This is a serious motivation not to assign corps to an army where army leader has SR 2. I suppose the tradeoff for an independant corps would be losing any ...

Thanks for the reply Gray and keep up the good work! I risk sounding like a gushing fanboy when I say this but AACW is one of the best computer wargames ever. I grew up on paper and dice wargames and am almost always frustrated by terrible computer wargames because they either are not fun or fall wa...

Armies and corps activation

If I have an army leader, for example Mac, who has a low strat rating and therefore does not activate often, does this lower the likelihood his corps commanders activate? I sent Mac to Missouri and ever since, the one corps there rarely activates despite the corps leader's 3-1-1. I made the corps in...

combat strength and terrain

How does terrain affect combat strength? Also, the terrain in east Tennesee, southern Kentucky is a nightmare to move an army through. Seems to take forever. As Union player I have opted for a plan that avoids campaigning through these regions. I put up what amounts to a cavalry screen to prevent CS...

I have followed much of Le Ricain's advice and have another question. I can block Hampton Roads and the North Carolina ports easily enough and I even managed to block Beufort S.C. (although I was trying to blockade Savannah). How can I determine which sea areas will block certain ports? Are the larg...

Okay, I have been playing now for a couple of weeks and thoroughly enjoying the game but still need more clarification on some items. I believe the restriction to the number of divisions that both the CSA and USA can build is unreasonable. The 1864 campaign at start forces for both USA and CSA show ...

This game is like many games with an artificial 3-star ranks even though the rank was only held by Grant and Scott. To facilitate gameplay no doubt. With so many generals of equal rank, seniority must have been a nightmare as jeff b points out. On an off topic, my wife was looking over my shoulder ...

it is clear that the rebs must score early victories as if they let the union have the initiative they will have to run from atlantic coast to mexican boundary to try to catch the union army... Indeed. So far I think I am holding my own. If I am making mistakes it is definately in the production de...

for the rebs a few brigs must be build every time you can as it will provide you the money or the WS you lack.... How many is a reasonable number of brigs by the end of 1862 for example? I am so short of WS..... for the union the effect is not so important as you have a better industry....... But s...

Depots can be built using two supply wagons or two tranports (recommended as these are cheaper). . ah, transports, excellent, thanks for the tip. Couple of quick comments and some questions First, my compliments to Ageod for another fine product. I own BoA and thought it was highly innovative and entertaining. AACW is such an excellent follow up that I am almost ashamed that I have waited this long to purchase it—and now that NCP is available...
